Don't forget Blair promised jam tomorrow. As a result he adopted many of Thatcher's policies. When Brown and the extreme left forced Blair to backtrack it weakened the economy. My mortgage rate went through the roof, negative equity was rampant. So when the bankers crashed the economy we had no resilience hence immediate recession and Brown's implementation of austerity, (no it wasn't Osbourne). StasiStarmer has turned out to be weak and out of his depth surrounded by the worst intellectually stunted and bigoted front bench in history. WFA withdrawal is the classic example of panic in Government. And don't forget the Tories had recovered the economy so that we survived Covid. Even here Stailabour have failed be adult about those debts and seem blissfully unaware of the real world.
