Thanks for the video. But Ubuntu runs quite a bit slower than Mint actually. Ubuntu is a bit bloated and is running Snapd, so there is really a difference in speed running on bare metal.

i think on a 4 gb netbook which i have ubuntu is nice and can run properly but if u like mint go for it

I like Mint Cinnamon 20 so far (3 days in), but today I couldn't open RedNotebook any more. I even tried reinstalling it; still not opening. I'm stuck using the LibreOffice calendar now, which isn't as nice.

I did some tricks to speed it up (disabled compositing, window tiling and hot corners, a few other things); it made a little bit of difference in memory and CPU usage, but not much. Even with those settings all on, it still runs faster than Mint 19.3, so aside from the RedNotebook issue, I'm happy.

Cinnamon is simply pointless against MATE.
The real comparison should be classic Ubuntu UNITY vs classic LinuxMint MATE and since Ubuntu has a Mate flavor... Ubuntu MATE vs Linux Mint MATE can reveal something about the two.
