the internet != the web.
The web is what you browse (webpages etc)
The internet is the network of interconnected computers.

So it is a platform for gaming? What is the added value for every day life? What is it that I do each day in the real world that would be more valuable for me to do in the Metaverse? What is the added value of the Metaverse? Just because gamers use it to exchange virtual non existing things that have no equivalent in the real world is no reason to promote it. Any game is made up just for fun. So is the Metaverse just another upgrade from the PlayStation or Netflix or your tv? So just another platform for entertainment? Why would I go on any Metaverse to interact with the real world? Again what is the added value above the alternatives we already use now? Just because technology exist does not mean we should use it.
