The Pause - you have explained it perfectly. Everyone is always looking for a quick pass, but pausing the game to look for the best pass is much better.

I believe that Xavi is really underrated, he should be at least in the debate for the ten best PLAYERS OF HISTORY, you may think that I exaggerate, but he is undoubtedly the best midfielder I had ever seen, he was an absolutely key player for two of the best teams in football history (Barcelona and Spanish national team), is one of the players that have won the most trophies ever, has incredible stats for a midfielder and if it wasn't for Messi and Ronaldo he would have won several balons D Ore.

He was everything Barca needed for more than two decades. Plus, I think consistency is always forgotten about Xavi. He was always a major key for every important game.

xavi, iniesta, busquets was the most deadly midfield trio a team can assemble. throw messi in the mix and you can clearly see why barcelona was so dangerous in that period of 2008-2012

His best ability is his positioning and his awareness for his team mate's position, he used to look over his shoulder for opponents and teammates very very frequently he got the nickname as chameleon eyes, was called witch and crow cause he turned his neck and eyes too much. But la pausa is something that can not be taught, to perform this player has to be exceptionally good ball control, passing and ability, consistency and confidence to hold on to the ball and make that pass. No one will come close to him, none.

La pausa is nice, but your teammates would say "why you didn't pass me the ball?" Blah blah blah

The La Pausa is possible if you have a mobile team, not players that refuse to make a run.
Learned a lot from Xavi...not just the vision and passes but also how to shield the ball with your body, drawing fouls instead of losing the ball, he's not the biggest but does it perfectly.

I seen a lot of these type of videos, but this one has been the most useful I can remember seeing.

Especially the part about 'la pausa' is very good to know.
