AP Computer Science A
Unit 1: Using Objects and Methods
Lesson 6 – Creating and Calling an Object's Methods

Welcome! I'm Goldie, from Goldie's Math Emporium.

In this lesson, students will explore how methods define the behaviors of objects in Java. They'll learn how to write and identify methods based on their headers, understand the difference between void and non-void methods, and see how parameters allow methods to handle different inputs. Students will also discover method overloading and how Java distinguishes between different versions of a method. They'll finish the lesson with a better understanding of preconditions, postconditions, and commenting techniques that help make code clearer.
