AP Computer Science A
Unit 1: Using Objects and Methods
Lesson 7 – String Manipulation

Welcome! I'm Goldie, from Goldie's Math Emporium.

In this lesson, students will explore how Java handles String data types, including how they are stored in memory differently. Students will also practice concatenating Strings, using escape sequences for formatting output, and accessing specific parts of Strings using indexing and methods that are part of the AP CSA Java Subset. The lesson will conclude by comparing class methods (such as those from the Math class) to reference methods (used with String objects).
