Thanks for sharing your story. My day died at age 42 with a massive heart attack. It is very traumatic for children and a lifetime of concern about our own heart. Im happy you survived for your family. It's been 54 years today that we burried him, and Im still sad that I lost him so early in my life.

My dad suffered the widowmaker. He's one of the toughest men I've ever known and he said that pain was unlike anything he'd ever felt before. When he went down and my mom called 911, an ambulance crew was getting lunch at a place about 1/4 mile from their house. Thank God for our EMS, doctors, and nurses.

Your heart doesn’t care what you do for a living.
Love your content. Thanks Dr

Man, this is the closest I'll probably ever get to riding shotgun with a cardiac surgeon who's opening up about his personal experience in this regard. This sort of thing has way more of an impact than any typical lecture a doctor could give his patients. Thank you for this!

Why, oh why, can't we all have a doctor like you? You inspire me! Thank you for putting your story out there.

Denial, honey. A doctor is his own worst patient. Thank God you are still with us. You have a very smart wife. Listen to her!
Thank you for continuing to help us!

I don't know anything about Dr. London except for this video. I'm a 56 year old man and had strange chest pains 8 months ago. I took myself to urgent care, they sent me to the hospital, and I wound up with 7 stents in 3 arteries. I don't scare easily but I was preparing myself mentally for death. I do thank Dr. London for posting his story and appreciate his emphasis on denial and getting to the hospital when something new is happening with our body. I'm divorced, my daughters are grown and live away, so I was in the hospital myself thinking I'd never see them or my little granddaughter again. But I'm here and I did see them. I changed my diet, take my meds, and still exercise. And after this video I'm giving away all my alcohol. The one thing I've learned through all of this is that anyone at any age can have heart disease, and it doesn't matter if we exercise, eat well, and do everything right, we are all susceptible to any disease.

I survived the widow maker, followed by a minor MI a month later in 2017. Taking my meds, eating right, lifting weights, tons of walking steps. Going strong 2024.

I’m astounded by your story. You did everything that you’d lecture a patient NOT to do.

I am so thankful that after experiencing 4 fatal heart attacks in our families, my husband reported unusual pain / sweating/discomfort within a half hour of experiencing it. That precaution saved his life.

His symptoms were profuse sweating, persistent yawning and uncomfortable squeezing in the middle inside his chest. Pain at a level 3 not anything crushing. The color was gone from his face and his hands were shaking uncontrollably. This is a guy who did everything right for his health, 130 lbs, never one pound overweight one day in his life.

3 weeks following this heart attack and emergency quadruple bypass surgery, we are working through his recovery instead of grieving his loss. ❤

Denial is his default reaction ... But not this time. And thank God.

This is so amazing how a person can be in denial, you’re a heart doctor.😮

Too funny, not the heart problem, but telling his wife, “I’m a cardiac surgeon “. Women are so knowledgeable
