What should you look for when buying a TV - as opposed to a monitor - to game on?

HDMI 2.0 cable as SHORT as possible will make a noticible difference. I tried same TV and laptop with a 1m HDMI 1.5 cable and a 50cm HDMI 2.0 cable and the 50cm 2 cable gave no discoverable lag that had any effect whatsoever. Been saying it for years, the cheap cables are NOT the same.

I have a Vizio e420i-B0 I bought new in 2014ish. I mainly bought it because of the true 120hz capability, but checking the refresh rate on Rtings, and holy balls! A 29.7ms input lag for a 6 year old TV is great! I guess I did my homework back then.

The info was great, but a list of current/common televisions that meet these standards would have been dope. Like, "hey, here's a list of TVs that we think are great for gaming!" or something. You taught me to fish, but I don't wanna fish. I just wanna eat.

To this day, I still can't figure out why more people aren't evangelizing the Samsung Q6FN as being, on the sly, one of the best deals for both gaming and regular tv viewing. I think you can get the 55in 2018 model for like $500 now, and it has a true 120hz panel, is freesync compatible, and has only 15ms of input lag. I've had it plugged into my media center PC (which runs a vega 64) and I couldn't be happier.
