I wouldnt mind eating anything with bugs in it. Its the shape and feel of bug that makes it disgusting. The way they walk around their shape and everything, its like my brain is yelling to me "kill it or stay away from it" but if there was a nice tasting drink/food with lots of bugs in it but didnt look like it had bugs in it i wouldnt mind.

Saying lobster and crab is the same thing as bugs is disingenuous. Lobster and crab have meat you can extract so you don't have to eat the hard shell it guts. Bugs don't have any meat to extract. Their muscles are liquid. So you have to eat the entire thing guts and exoskeleton.

Bugs are insects (3 pairs of legs). Lobsters and crabs are crustaceans (5 pairs of legs). So that's not actually true. Second, there's a difference between something getting into food as a contaminant in small amounts and eating that thing on purpose as a large part of your diet. I think the best thing you can do (if able) is to grow your own food or buy it from local organic farmers although I know that's not an option for everyone even though it should be.

That "crustaceans are bugs" thing is twisting the truth a good bit.
One of those "Yes, but... actually no" kind of things.

Same with the canned produce; they _can_ contain insects, and very often may, but they don't necessarily contain insect parts as a rule, as Adam made it sound.

This is one step of subversion. "You don't like to eat bugs, but you already do a little bit, so why not do it all the time?" It's supposed to contrive cognitive dissonance into the viewer. They should be the last ones to try to push the fear of hypocrisy however, since they have none themselves.

0:32 just because something's an arthropod doesn't mean it's a bug tho, right? like aren't those two different classifications? like u wouldn't say eating a fish is the same thing as eating a spider because they're both animals. lobsters are crustaceans. Sure their phylum is the same but the class is different.

A quick google search says that all bugs have to be insects and insects belong to the class Insecta. lobsters aren't apart of that class so... lobsters aren't bugs. (Also its something about the mouths that differentiates an insect from being bugs, cause not all insects are bugs, but all bugs are insects)
