I have 14 of them in my tree outside; it's so exciting to see new growth. Orchids have a mind of their own.

I ordered one of these from Steve's Leaves recently & they sent me a nice-sized plant, so I look forward to seeing it bloom in a year or so... the scent is heavenly Im sure! New subscriber 🌱🌱

Thank you so much for this video. I've been feeling frustrated with my coconut orchid. I've had it for several months and it hasn't done a thing! You've given me a great idea on trying a different option.

Hi Maria, adorable woman is growing up adorable plants!!! Why I can't smell your Maxillaria Tenuifolia using youtube??? I urgent need to write them my complaint! When I smelled it in a local shop (it happened in the morning) I was feeling crazy because I could feel this smell all day long!!! Of course I bought one. My questions are how often it is blooming and in what season? Thank you for sharing!!!

Thank you for the reply. I give her Catt. light and fertilize once a month and a weak solution spray every few days. She's out side through the spring and summer months. I haven't tried a bloom booster fertilizer. I thought it had the same compounds as standard. I currently have my Catt in bud and my den trying to spike with no special care but this one.

I have great news to share with you today! I did what you suggested about my coconut orchid and low and behold... Giving her an ultimatum, bloom booster and threatened by division. She finally rewards me with a flower bud. I'm not sure how long exactly when she popped her out. My dendrobium vorawit blue is also in spike too. It a happy day for me :D

I've had the same plant for a few years now and can't seem to get it to bloom. It's beyond blooming size, it's huge but no blooms.

My concern is about watering the Coconut orchid. We have had a fine specimen for 5 years and I read somewhere that we have to keep it's "feet wet" or it won't survive nor flower. I followed this "tip" faithfully, and though the plant stays healthy and makes new pseudo-bulbs it never flowers. We live in the north west of England -maybe it needs more heat? or different light levels or less watering? Many thanks in advance. A Fan

Hi Maria, Can you do an update on this Maxi? I'd like to know how the cuttings on the outer rim did...

Why did you decide to plant this in a bark medium instead of a sphagnum moss-type medium? I just bought one of these today and I have no idea what to do with it, re-potting wise. The pseudobulbs are rather dehydrated/shriveled despite having a lot of new roots sprouting out of the pot it is in. Currently it is in sphagnum moss only. Any tips or ideas you can give me would be much appreciated. My growing conditions are indoors only with bright, diffused light.
