Just FYI SMT is enabled on the Ryzen 9 5950X, but the monitoring software I use does not yet monitor threads and I am limited to just monitoring cores. That being said both CPU's are watercooled by the same custom Loop, Both CPU's are at stock with PBO enabled.

And something pretty important that most of us didn't realized is that the 5950x is cooler than the 3950x while having higher clocks. That means less generated heat and that the 5950x will not only have higher clock speeds but he will also maintain them for longer

Last gen I thought AMD just needed to have 8 core CCDs without splitting into 4 core CCXs, they would truly edge out Intel in almost all games. I never imagined they'd have this many gen-on-gen performance gains. This is devastating, and without so much as a process shrink or refinement. 5 nm, DDR5, PCIe 4.0, next year's machines are going to make my 7700k system completely obsolete.

I have used almost exclusively Intel since Windows 98 for gaming, but the winds are changing.

Upgraded from 2600x to 5600x. Tested AC Odyssey and Vermintide 2. On Zen+ i got huge fps drops in both of these games. Now everything is very smooth.

in some game difference is massive and there is gpu assassin creed vahalla work strange on nvidia gpu, rx 6800xt at 1080p its up to 50% faster

A great jump in performance indeed. I'll upgrade soon from first gen ryzen to 5th gen. I might literally get double the fps in some scenarios. In GTA V my gpu isn't even running at 50% usage with my 1700 at 1080p ultra.

excellent showcase! what if you push them both to their limits with 1440p and 4k? would be interesting to see how the 5950X gains in higher resolutions or even just to see which games you test are more cpu/gpu bound with higher res :D
