strength training is the reason i look good and it allows you to lift heaviers weights on a bodybuilding routine

I've been moving from body building to strength training and I finally feel at ease with strength training. It just makes sense, if you lift big, you'll get big. Also you gain some serious functional strength out of it too.

In my opinion, its better to be strong Vs looking strong

I love the videos from 2012-2014. That’s when I first discovered this channel. The intro is nostalgic too.

Powerlifting builds thick dense muscle that doesn't deflate the next morning unlike pumped up bodybuilding routines. For me, my body responded much better to powerlifting and in the past year of serious lifting, I built more size and strength than years of bodybuilding routines plus my body looks powerful and natural.

I like to do 4 sets of 5 for strength on my main lifts, then follow up with 2-3 sets of 6-7 reps with slightly lower weight and shorter rest times for hypertrophy. Then throw in a couple of isolations at the end, 3x8-10 simple sets. I feel it's a good blend.

Kind of tired of the rhetorical "I rather be strong, then look aesthetic, or look good", as if thats a "I can kick everybodys ass because I can lift more weight" card Lol, who dosent want to look good, and be strong, so dont shit on the aesthetic aspect of resistance training.

I understand the image of "bodybuilders are big but weak and powerlifters are strong and fat" stereotype, but in one of Elliott's other videos he explains how bigger muscles are stronger muscles, which is right. Most people forget that when the World's Strongest Man came out, more than half the competitors were pro bodybuilders and they were insanely strong. Jon Pall Sigmarsson and Mark Felix are two strongmen that came from bodybuilding backgrounds. Just wanted to point that out for you guys

When are you going to tell us the truth that you're Keith and Kevins younger brother.

My favorite workout is the Stronglifts 5x5. Imo, it's the best most consistent strength training workout out there... that I've found. Plus your body and joints feel good, it improves your posture, and you're rarely sore. It's fantastic!

You know, I think one major reason that I enjoy watching Elliott discuss pretty much anything, from fitness to life in general, is merely his eloquence. You can tell that he is very well educated and the fact he is so well spoken makes it a pleasure to watch and listen to.

How about a four day body split. Workout A1 upper body strenght, workoutB lower body strenght, workout A2 upper body hypertrophy, workout B2 lower body hypertrophy? This way you are hitting muscles twice a week and you are doing both strenght and hypertrophy?

Strength training is my fav, I would suggest people strength train before bodybuilding

if you focus on strength, what you get are flat, hard and fucking solid muscle that are hard and strong. i would rather have that than big, puffy and swolen muscle that are weak, most of the time. and seriously, you get big from strength training to. its not like you'll get smaller... just focus on full body workouts to stimulate more muscles for more muscle fibers, and you'll stay big AND strong. at least that works for me.. and thats funny because im like short as hell (1.68), but still people around me call me the ''big guy''..

Solution. Strength on compound exercise. In the 3-5 rep range. Hypertrophy for isolation exercises. 6-20 reps.

You know I actually found the opposite to be true I started with bodybuilding and I developed a decent body but I notice when I started lifting heavy I really filled out like I actually looked like a grown man
