Oct. 23 on The Story: If you're a Portland voter, you may have just received your ballot for the November election — and you may find it daunting. There are a whopping 19 people running for mayor, and city council races run from 16 to 30 candidates depending on the district. On top of that, you can rank up to six of each. With such a busy ballot, it's understandable to expect that it could delay the results on election night. But that's largely not the case; there will be initial results released at 8 p.m. Tuesday night, just like always. It's just that the details may be a little different than before. We'll walk you through what that means.
