I am in favour of ranked choice, I also support petition based, publicly funded candidate selection .

Of course the duopoly wants to prevent competition

RCV would have a better chance of passing without the open primary

As an unaffiliated voter, I'm all in favor of this ranked voting concept.

When you say, “Colorado’s political parties came out against RCV, ” did you just conveniently forget that there are more than just 2 political parties in Colorado?
I’m sure that the Green Party of Colorado did not come out against RCV.
I have my doubts that the Libertarian party of Colorado came out against RCV.
Language counts, and inclusive language is also pertinent in this situation.

Yay for ranked choice voting.
How does open primaries prevent greens from showing up on the ballot?

Nope. This does not accept your choice, but defies the single vote.

Vote NO on Proposition 131
Putting more names on the ballot does not mean that we will get better candidates.
The Open Primary will likely eliminate the minor political parties will never get onto the General Election ballot. So the actual choices on the General Election ballot will be just the same as what we get now.
Don't make a mess of our elections.
