What God hates about the United Methodist Church

With all of the conflict in the United Methodist Church, there is one over arching lesson about Gods word that we should all learn from.
coming from Proverbs 6, we see what God is truly upset about in regards to how we treat each other.
Today Pastor Keith chats about a lesson that we should all learn from.

I went to a UMC church for over ten years. I had been concerned about a lot of things going on from the pulpit, but when they started changing hymns from saying "God the Father" to "God the Creator", I walked out and never looked back.

If I graduated from a seminary with the intention of entering a certain denomination but discovered that I didn't agree with all of the tenets of that denomination, the honorable thing to do would be to choose a denomination with which I agree theologically. If I were to join the denomination, and take a vow to uphold its tenets even though I have no intention of doing so, that would be deceitful and it would sow discord among the members of that church. It would make me guilty of being that person the Lord hates in Proverbs 6:16.

I grew up in a Methodist Church. It’s heartbreaking to see a schism. I learned about God and the free gift of His Grace there

I was part of the UMC for 26 years. We had a vote to disaffiliate which failed by a 60% tp 40% vote (60% to disaffiliate). We launched a new church which is fledgling at this point but surviving.

I understand and agree with your statements. As I’m sure you’re aware that LGBT… seems to be at the front of the split for some reason, but my main concern is the misuse of funds (for years);lack of allowing voting. I just left without causing a scene. Sad but that was it for me.

Methodist is not off God is of the world. I used to be there and God took me and my family out of there, and we found God when we got out of there, and we have a personal relationship with Christ praise his holy Name Jesus forever. I pray everyone that’s in there get out asap and seek Jesus. 🙌🏽🙏✝️

Our Pastor grew up in the UMC and left in the mid 1980's over this very issue.

Shouldn't the true Church have Apostles and Prophets? After all he called Apostles and Prophets in Ephesians to bring us to a unity of the faith. It's obvious we are not in unity of the faith. Satan is the author of confusion. Which Church has Apostles and Prophets?

I only WISH I could say that this problem was EXCLUSIVELY the United Methodist denomination. However, it occurs in the Roman Catholic Church, the Episcopal Church, the Orthodox Church, the Lutherans have this problem, and so do the Presbyterians. Sadly, even the Assemblies of God, Calvary Chapels, Christian and Missionary Alliance, and yes, that includes the Southern Baptists. We are ALL at fault with these divisions. See the book of 1 Corinthians. There are divisions both between but even more so within Church denominations.

I left the Methodist church during covid. So tired of zero preaching taking place there.

Who is to blame? The IRD and GMC iniatiated the division. Why blame the UMC?

Firstly, we need to define who qualifies as "brethren"...(or, are ALL people children of God, whether they live in willful sin and/or condone it ?). Yes, God calls us to love ALL people... but, what more does scripture have to say?
Do not be unequally yoked with unbelievers. For what partnership can righteousness have with wickedness? Or what fellowship does light have with darkness? What harmony is there between Christ and Belial? Or what does a believer have in common with an unbeliever? What agreement can exist between the temple of God and idols? For we are the temple of the living God. As God has said:

“I will dwell with them and walk among them, and I will be their God, and they will be My people. “Therefore come out from among them
and be separate, says the Lord. Touch no unclean thing, and I will receive you.”...And: “I will be a Father to you, and you will be My sons and daughters, says the Lord Almighty.”

Also here, Jesus is talking to those living in willful sin--John 8:41-47... Jesus says, "You are doing the works of your own father.” "They replied, “We aren’t illegitimate children! God himself is our true Father.”
Jesus told them, “If God were your Father, you would love me, because I have come to you from God. I am not here on my own, but he sent me. Why can’t you understand what I am saying? It’s because you can’t even hear me! For you are the children of your father the devil, and you love to do the evil things he does. He was a murderer from the beginning. He has always hated the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he lies, it is consistent with his character; for he is a liar and the father of lies. So when I tell the truth, you just naturally don’t believe me! Which of you can truthfully accuse me of sin? And since I am telling you the truth, why don’t you believe me? Anyone who belongs to God listens gladly to the words of God. But you don’t listen because you don’t belong to God.”


What say you? I say, contend for the faith, walk in-love, and leave UMC harmoniously. It is a shame that the conservatives are the ones who have to abandon ship- that in itself is a tell-all to UMC's spiritual state. Obviously, the truth has not been taught for many years. Who has let the wolves in the back door? How did it get to this condition? What can pastors learn from this? Praying for UMC's healing.🙏✝

We have to work with God to bring about a change through faith. This starts by not demonizing other faiths because they differ from ours. We need to set these differences aside and work for the common good. What is the common good you ask? It is quite possible that people of faith can be legally identified as hate groups and churches closed for taking a stance against the outright perverse activities in society. It can happen, it was tested during C-19 remember? The powers that be hate us, hate God and hate faith in general. We need to bind ourselves together as a union of faith and use our power to protect our religious rights or I guarantee we will lose them.

I can't watch anymore. I don't think John Wesley and John Calvin ever made videos. There is dissension in all denominations, not just the UMC. God loves everyone and Jesus commanded us to do the same.
