For my local doctors there seems to be some prestige attached to having more children. It shows they have a good handle/management of work and personal life etc.

The data was collected from a military sample which is very conservative compared to other groups in Norway. There is a slight tilt upward between high IQ conservative men and this study shows exactly that but isn't representative of the entirety of Norway. If you went into Norwegian universities and ran the same study there you would find a massive negative correlation because high IQ left wing men don't breed.

Norway has now a fertility rate of 1.4 now. It looks like Nordic equal woman rights (ugh) doesnt work now. Fertility rate has plummeted the last few years in all the Nordic countries.

In the days of yore, Viking women were left behind in their villages and hamlets having to fend for themselves whilst their men folk took to the seas for long periods of time.
In the absence of men, many women and elder sons had to take on very masculine roles until the men returned.
This may be the reason why Scandinavian women are highly or better "educated, " developing a higher sense of awareness and survivability from wolves, etc.. Hence, when they make any decisions, they seem to stick by them, i.e., "no means no." really does mean "no" even after spending an enjoyable evening out with them, as I was later to find out on many occasions!

Perhaps intelligent men know about the bias in divorce settlements, the family courts, and don't want to pay child support for a kid that they can prove isn't theirs.
Perhaps the legal system if fair in Norway.
