This tutorial will show you how to make the Granny Stripe Stitch. It is an easy 2 row repeat with the only difference between rows is how you start and end the rows!! This stitch can be made with any yarn and make a wonderfully soft and plush blanket using chunky yarn. The Granny Stripe Stitch works up fast and is great for beginners who have learned the double crochet.

I just want to say I have been crocheting for many years. I come to this Chanel to find new patterns and stitches. Let me just say. You are amazing. You were so clear. I attempted 3 different blankets and ended up stopping because I went crooked at some point. But your explaining the turn to the next rounds were clear and simple. Thank you so much.

I love the way you did the color change of the yarn. You explain everything really well without making anyone feel like you are talking down to them. Amazing

You explain this SO so well. I struggle when i want to create something different using a pattern from a tutorial because i often dont know why someone adds extra stitches here or whatever, You perfectly explained why you need two extra in a chain and i absolutely appreciate that.

I've got to Thank You for this easiest way to learn this stitch...I didn't even know how to find it & yours popped up, & it was not the 1st of these I checked out. I love the way #1 that you explain if say I'm making a afghan size how to count the 3 - 2- 3 - 2 till I get it how long I need it to be. And #2 you make it so much easier with that beginning stich before you start you clusters of 3. My hands are not in goid shape any more & to hold that chain to start the 3 cluster in it was murder on my fingers. Yours I knew that stitch & man gotta say your a real peach pie. Also the chain one from start to finish & the next one a chain 2 start to finish & alternate.. I also loved your more secure way to change colors. I'm not young but still just now learning new stuff in my late 60s. I totally understood every step you did with out stop & going. THANK YOU SO MUCH. Can't wait to start this new Afghan I'm gonna make. Just finished a granny square with no borders & a disappearing stitch. Not my favorite to try it again. Lol😅 going back to the finishing my squares with a solid same color & sewing them together. 😊

What is the reason behind not making a full granny cluster on the ends of the first row (and each alternating row)?
