Thanks for showing me how to stop the square madness! I made this for my daughter for Christmas '23 using HomeTown "Aspen Tweed" Super Bulky (6) 6.5mm. It is about 5 ft x 5ft and weighs a ton! My husband told our daughter, every time you use this, it's a hug from Mom.

July 11 finally completed the baby blanket (11 days after due date)
First inconvenience; baby decided to born 3 days early. Second inconvenience, I was down with a flu?
I made it 40 inches square in white yarn. After it was finished, I pass a string of thick baby chick yellow Yarn Bee through every single space on diagonal, leave some extra at the end of each row and tied two together to hang as fringe. My right hand wrist is complaining. Mission accomplished thanks to your tutorial. 💕

Thank you. I was making a granny square to go around my ball jar, but it was too tall as a square and this will help me make it longer with the right width. 😊💜

Very well explained. Thank you for the bonus of fast-forwarding the dc stitches while keeping the verbal instructions clear. 🎉❤😊 I am hoping to use this for my Valentine’s Day sweater. 😅

Started the baby blanket last night, redo 3 rows 3 times 😜
I succeeded finally, going into my sixth row (40 inches per row)
My average so far is 15 min @row
My calculation is 15 hours. I'm making a 40 x 40. Hopefully have it ready before the baby is born (June 30) I'll keep you updated 👠

Nice video! Thinking of a sc row first before starting the granny square rows then end with a sc row to use this for a shawl. Any thoughts to accomplish this. Thanks.

Nice, I didn't know it could be worked that way. It sounds like it can be worked up faster than the traditional square. 😍
