By replying with "stop" or "unsubscribe" you're just telling the spammer or scammer that your number is real. Congratulations.

I get numerous political texts a day pleading for donations etc. They are always from different phone numbers so it seems they are spoofing other people’s phone numbers to send the messages. I have reported every single one of them (without opening the texts) but still get at least 10 a day. It is so annoying and I don’t know a solution for the issue. Any suggestions?

This is not very good advice. If you are 100% certain that you’re receiving a text from company you do business with, replying with “ stop” will be effective. In any other case you’re just basically telling people that your phone number number is valid. Also keep in mind a reputable company that you are not doing business with is not going to send you random texts. Never click the link on the text and never respond to a text unless you know exactly who it is that sent you that text. Seriously never respond to a text unless you know for sure who sent it

When it comes from spammers, "delete and report as junk" just doesn't work. I get constant daily republican political spam. I hit "delete and report as junk" every time, multiple texts per day and they just keep coming. I hope you can find something better. This is such a basic, obvious and unfortunately useless solution. sorry.
