Stopping political & spam texts

With the primary next week, you've likely received at least one political message on your phone. However, it turns out that these kinds of messages started to spike a couple of years ago.

It's like playing whack a mole, trying to stop the onslaught of annoying and unwanted political spam that I didn't sign up for. Why can't we opt out of getting these ridiculous spam messages?? It's way out of control!!

I am getting at least eight political text messages a day all from different numbers. I have blocked at least one hundred numbers over the last thirty days.

Also this lady says “reply stop” if you reply you’ll just get more spam texts

This story was so worthless as a way to prevent these unwanted messages. If you never agreed to receive the messages, why would replying STOP end the continual barrage of unsolicited messages?

Furthermore, the numbers used are always changing, so reporting a number is pointless when the next round comes from different numbers!

Finally, reporting to the FCC has proven zero results. All I experience is more of my time & energy trying to combat something that isn’t stopping.

Its insanity as defined. What I want to see is a law that makes it illegal to mask numbers from which a call or message is coming from so those violating the law can be actually prosecuted with the same veracity as if I didn’t pay my taxes or didn’t comply with a court mandate. THAT would be a real solution.

All media journalists, help by reporting this kind of idea as a solution. Call to action that we citizens need to lobby lawmakers to create legislation and companies to get onboard with doing what’s right and not what’s profitable with programs that enable illegal behavior or activities.

This crap is a lie. DO NOT TEXT STOP. The minute you do they will send you the same exact msg, using a different #. This happened to me several times and I got the same txt from a different # the minute I texted STOP. I got 6 of the same exact political texts from different #'s after I texted STOP.

I made the mistake of responding to a message from the staff of a state rep, they didn't like my response so they added me to nationwide texting from their party, can I sue them for harassment?

They just change their phone numbers. The law is set up so they can bypass it with no penelty. They get your information from YouTube. If you comment on a video they will get all the information they need including bank accounts and other personal information. Thank you tube for that.
