I had Invisalign for 2 months and just switched to braces this week. Braces are so much easier and less work. Invisalign is like a ft job. Flossing with braces is the only downside. Takes practice.

Update 11/2024 : I’m almost done with treatment. Switching to braces was the best decision and I couldn’t be happier with results. Discomfort was minimal. It was never about being lazy, it was about feeling comfortable and secure with my treatment. No matter what was going on in my life like travel, illness, moving etc, I didn’t have to think about it because my braces were working 24/7 no matter what.

I wish I was more clearly informed about Invisalign, especially that was going to have attachments and rubber bands. I basically have zero advantages to them over clear braces because you see them even when I take them out.

Week 10 of Invisalign and it’s been fine, you get used to planning to eat more for meals and cleaning more just becomes a habit. Only hard part is a meal where dessert comes 15 mins later, then coffee 15 mins later, these meals can set you back a bit but don’t do them very often

Invisalign doesn't work for me. They messed up my bite and they weren't able to correct my lower canine tooth, and couldn't align my central incisors. My dentist doesn't know what to do and he said he would only order me so many revisions for my teeth. Now I'm looking into getting traditional braces because my bite is so bad I had to spend around 30 minutes on finishing a chick fil A salad because I can't chew things properly. They did say in the dentist office that Invisalign is not for everyone, and after they scanned my teeth they said it would work for me. But when things didn't turn out well they just try to social engineer me into accepting a terrible bite and my still crooked teeth instead of taking responsibility. It takes me twice as long to chew things now than before Invisalign, and my central incisors got moved back and forth four times and they are still crooked because my other crooked teeth took up extra space and Invisalign just can't correct it.

If you really want Invisalign, get it from an orthodontist instead of a dentist. Dentists are not trained for this, they make $$$ from giving you Invisalign without the training in how to get your bites right and how to put everything in place, and all they rely on is the engineered model with Invisalign. Remember that Invisalign is a model built by people, and they are not as intuitive as an orthodontist, who will give you a full analysis and adjust each of your teeth to make it work. The model is a prediction of how your teeth should go and they give you a bunch of trays in one visit. Sounds like less work for the provider and you spend the same amount of money. I went to some orthodontists to get quotes and their quotes are just as much for what I paid my Invisalign. It's still going to be a full set of treatment. I really regret in getting Invisalign.

I eat really slow, no way I can keep the Invisalign on for at least 22 hours everyday lol...thank god for waterpik, especially the portable one make flossing and cleaning extra efficient and easy.

I have been in these stupid aligners for over 2 years. 2nd refinement. Now that I think back to my consult, I don't really remember having a choice between braces and aligners. I asked about sublingual and clear, but I feel like I was heavily nudged into the invisalign. Doc, I wish I could have talked to you before I decided on this fate of mine. Invisalign was not explained to me the way you explain it. Everyone needs to hear the way you explain it. I hate invisalign. It is impossible to have aligners in your mouth for 22 hours a day and be near a clean bathroom to brush your teeth after every meal?? I also started grinding since having invisalign because of the anxiety of having them in; it's almost like I'm chewing on them. Terrible habit. I had a follow up this morning and I actually asked my orthodontist if I could switch. I am depressed and over it. I want my life back.

I put invisalign for 2 months and i ended with horrible stomach and intestinal bloating and cramps. That plastic is inflammatory

EVERYONE LISTEN UP: so you don't waste ur money I'm going to tell you my story I take medications for mental health purposes and I used braces and invisalign and they BOTH broke because of my medications I have excessive teeth grinding so if you grind your teeth and use antidepressants maybe wait until you don't take prescribed meds that affect grinding

I had a consult for Invisalign at my dentist recommendation. I’ve never had braces or felt I needed. I’m 54 and my teeth are shifting. To say the consult showed subtle change is an understatement! I didn’t see a difference! So now I don’t know, braces or even veneers on the few teeth that shifted. I dunno. I go to dds this week so we’ll see.

I want to get my daughter teeth straighteners but she eats and drinks beverages that stain and she lays things down and loses things like glasses, water bottle . She also can be lazy with molar brushing and flossing.
