It seems to take a unique set of circumstances for a decent windstorm to hit the Willamette valley here in Oregon. I've learned to not get so excited at the potential of such an event. It's easy to get excited especially with the major low we had off the coast a couple weeks ago

Thanks for the updates Michael. I was wondering if the term "black ice" is an official meteorological term or something the TV weathermen came up with. In my opinion, ice is always clear, but may appear to be black if on a dark surface like asphalt.

Ugh. I don't like the look of that 8 to 14 day temperature outlook. The rain is good, but the mild temps not so much! In another recent forecast I saw, the forecaster was talking about a possible sudden stratospheric warming event in Siberia which would allow arctic air to come down into the U.S in January. I got a little excited when his long range forecast map was showing deep purple colors over the northwest. Can you talk more about this in a future video Michael? Thanks.
