Hello!
I just bought a 2025 2.3L EcoBoost Explorer yesterday and found your video while trying to learn all about it. THANK YOU! I had no idea this was a completely new engine, or that it uses a different oil filter from the FL-910S.
One thing I want to mention though - At the end of your video, you said that you removed the under engine cover and are planning to leave it off. I caution against that. Having owned several Ford EcoBoost vehicles, those are actually air diverters that route outside air to the turbo while driving to help keep the turbos cool. They also are used to protect all the additional oil lines and turbo plumbing from getting struck by road debris. Whereas a regular old NA engine block doesn’t really get hurt by a stray rock getting kicked up, something like that could ruin a turbo engine.

LOL. I found this out the hard way earlier today. Oil change was going great. Had the 2025 Active up on my ramps. Didn't even spill any oil! Then I go to change the filter.... nuts.... Much different from the 910S I was used to. New one is larger and the different thread size like you mentioned. I still had a spare from my last vehicle and "thought" I could use it. With it up on the ramps, had to wait til my wife came home for lunch to get replacement. Stopped at a parts store. Not even in the data base yet! Took my wife home and drove to the Ford dealer. $12 later, had the proper filter! All done now. Live & learn. I'll stock up on them. Thanks for the great presentation here! I use that same Pennzoil you use. Good stuff in my past ecoboost motors. Mine needed 5.2 quarts today to fill it. (With a new filter) I put in 5 and ran it a minute. Shut off, let sit. Needed another .2 to top it to the upper mark.

Just bought Ford Explorer 2025 Active. Thanks providing the info on the Oil Filter. Didn't know it's a new engine vs the previous generations. I'm impress the EcoBoost turbo engine.. Thanks for the demonstration on the oil change.

Heyo Jmc, I appreciate the long term review of the new explorer! I am very close to pulling the trigger, aiming for the st line, awd. Just wondering how the 2.3 feels so far? Any regrets not getting the ST?
