Healthy Ketogenic Diet and Intermittent Fasting:

Today we’re going to talk about vitamin deficiencies in mental institutions. I believe this is an extremely common problem that’s very ignored.

Dr. Georgia Ede is a psychiatrist who has great data on using the ketogenic diet and intermittent fasting for mental health. She has studied the connection between what you eat and the effect it has on a person’s mental state. She also talks about how inflammation in the brain and too much oxidative stress can actually alter a person’s entire physiology, mood state, and mental state.

Looking deeper at certain vitamin deficiencies and mental health conditions:

Schizophrenia —
Some people have seen great results using:
• Vitamin B3 (in large amounts)
• Vitamin D
• Folate

Depression —
Some people have seen great results using:
• Vitamin D
• Omega-3
• Vitamin B12 (if you have anemia)

Bipolar disorder —
Some people have seen great results using:
• The ketogenic diet

Apathy —
Some people have seen great results using:
• Vitamin B1

Anxiety and panic attacks —
Some people have seen great results using:
• Vitamin B1

ADD/ADHD —
Some people have seen great results using:
• Vitamin B1
• Omega-3

Obsessive-compulsive disorder —
Some people have seen great results using:
• Zinc
• Taurine

Psychosis —
Some people have seen great results using:
• Vitamin B1

I believe adding the keto diet and intermittent fasting can also be huge for a person’s mental health. As a person’s body adapts to fasting and fat-burning, all sorts of amazing things could potentially happen to the brain.

You know... I was clinically depressed at one time. I had my blood taken and I found out I had a Vitamin D and Vitamin B12 deficiency. I’m pretty shocked right now because this video clearly explains some of the reasons I was feeling so depressed. This nutritional stuff is the real deal, great job Doctor!

I started keto for weight loss but after 2 weeks of clean keto and IF my anxiety disappeared. I couldn't get anxious or upset no matter what, including dealing with angry clients at work. I had been battling with crippling anxiety since my teens and have had many different medications including self medicating. Was literally life changing, and haven't needed anti-anxiety meds since. This was the best unexpected side affect ever! Thankyou very much.

taking B1 vitamins every day and doing the Wim Hof breathing technique in the mornings and the evenings has helped tremendously with anxiety and depression.

Someone needs to open up a facility to help people struggling with mental health and treat them with proper nutrition/ supplements/ and other therapies such as being out in nature.. I think this is severely needed..

This video by God's grace did a lot of wonders for me as being a sufferer of OCD, I started taking Taurine and Zinc, and have made tremendous recovery from OCD.

Thank you, as a clinical therapist that works at an inpatient treatment center for trauma survivors and addicts. We try and use more natural ways to help with mood, depression, etc. I will share with my fellow staff members.

Worst part is that people seem to get really angry when someone points out that these mental illnesses might be simple vitamin deficiencies (or intolerances to certain foods), they can't believe that their diet and exercise routines have anyting to do with how they feel mentally. Now that's mental

Every single time I talk to one of your representatives I get SO much help. They answer my questions so well that it makes me want to break down in tears of thankfulness. My entire family eats differently because of your life-saving nutrition videos as well. My type 1 diabetic pre-schooler is by far the MOST benefited one in our family... because of you. THANK YOU SO MUCH DR. BERG! You are an answer to our prayers.

This video is right on the I'm currently the parent of someone who is schizophrenic. The side effects from the medication was too brutal and they decided to get off of the meds. My heart broke because the withdrawals are WORSE than a heroin withdrawal because it last much longer. I was there everyday to witness this. We decided to start out with vitamin shot therapy for 6 weeks. Once a week they received a vitamin D shot, a complex B shot. If HELPED much. My child hasn't been on any meds in the last year and 3 months. They are currently taking vitamins. Thank you Dr. Berg, 😘💗💗💗💗💗💗💗💗💗💗

Minerals too!!! Zinc to the rescue - especially because worrying depletes it, and then memory is lost.
