Today I want to cover five nutritional deficiencies that can lead to depression.

Your DNA can influence your mood and cause you to become susceptible to nutritional deficiencies, even if you’re on a fairly good diet.

Vitamin deficiencies that may cause depression:
1. Vitamin B12
The best forms of vitamin B12:
• Methylcobalamin
• Hydroxy B12

2. Folate (vitamin B9)
The best form of folate:
• Methylfolate

3. Vitamin D3

4. Vitamin B1 (thiamine)

5. Zinc

Try taking vitamin B12 and folate together and see if that gives you relief. If it doesn’t, you could move on to the other vitamins.

It’s a good idea to try taking the last three vitamins one at a time, with a few days in between, rather than all at once. This way, you have a better idea of which one you could be deficient in.

Other natural ways to improve depression:
1. Take probiotics
2. Do intermittent fasting
3. Get on the Healthy Keto® diet
4. Get out in the sun
5. Exercise

We cured a young woman of depression who literally came to our house from a suicide watch unit at a local hospital with vitamin D and magnesium.

An Iron deficiency is often overlooked as well. It's a major contributing factor to depression and can lower levels of neurotransmitters like serotonin. I know way too many people on antidepressants that completely ignored their nutritional status. I blame their doctors. Too quick to reach for drugs when nutrition should be the first step. If you aren't eating enough red meat, B12 and Iron deficiencies are a given.

I started taking about 2 grams of Creatine daily and for some reason it seems to be helping my depressive and anxiety better than anything.

I feel like this video is speaking directly to my soul lol. I recovered from bad food poisoning back in January, lost 15 pounds from dehydration and loss of fluids, had to go to the hospital for one week and they put me on three different antibiotics, one through an IV. It was a long recovery process, but I had to stop working out until I recovered enough. I use to run almost everyday before that. It is now March and I still haven’t got the motivation to workout. I mostly work a lot but when I get off work I just go straight to my video games. Sometimes my trailer will build up with trash and I would do a deep clean every Sunday (just getting up to clean felt like a huge challenge) whereas before I would maintain it everyday. However I managed to keep my weight the same instead of gaining from being a couch potato by not eating much (stopped eating after 6pm), and I feel that could also be a contributing factor to my depression.

Maybe I just have a lot of medical problems, lol, but somehow every time something happens, a new Dr. Berg video comes out about that exact issue. It’s really uncanny but has helped me figure things out more than my actual doctors! (MTHFR, VDR, and COMT mutations here.). I’d love to see a video on COMT from MTHFR someday, because it makes a lot of the dietary changes going towards keto difficult for me as well as the detox issues (you can’t eat the detoxing food or supplements). Thank you again for all this info!

I believe veganism made my depressed because I didn’t get enough of the important nutrients. I did b12 shot for the whole 10 years I was vegan but wasn’t enough. I’m still recovering

Just for clarification, there are two types of vegetarian diets. Ovo and Lacto, I've been a ovo vegetarian for over a decade and don't have this sort of problem. Eggs are....incredible 🥚. Just thought I would point this out hearing the Doc say vegetarian and vegan diets. Vegans are especially more susceptible than vegetarians because that diet is more restrictive.

🥚🥩 I can personally vouch for the incredible benefits of incorporating raw egg yolks, medium-cooked red meat, and daily sunshine into my routine! Ever since I started consuming these nutrient-rich foods, I've been feeling more energetic and my mood has significantly improved. It's amazing how egg yolks and red meat are packed with essential vitamins like B12, folate, D3, B1, and zinc. 🌟

🌞 As for the sunshine, I've made it a point to get at least 30 minutes of sun exposure every day while exercising outdoors. This not only boosts my vitamin D3 levels but also keeps me feeling revitalized and happy. 😃

Dr. Berg's advice has truly transformed my life and I'm grateful to have discovered these natural ways to enhance my mental health. 🙌

Cut out carbs dramatically from what I was intaking. Not fan of red meats. I had antibiotics bout a week ago it ended so Ill try the probiotic & hope that helps. thanks so much been so full of irritation past week, I don't like the rage I am experiencing & will try anything to not feel like this. been a battle within my head & feel im going to lose the fight if something does not change. Thanks Dr Berg

All I know is once I realized that fat and meat are literally the most nutritious and healthiest foods, I quit my vegan diet.
I've never felt better!
My chronic depression and anxiety lifted.

Thankfully though I don't have it, yet I noticed that my mood lifts up when I consume certain foods like sunflower seeds or different nuts and seeds in general.
