Another way is to go into UE5 --> “Edit → Project settings → Platforms → Windows → Default RHI” and select DirectX 11 or Vulkan. This is the only way it worked for me

Thank you SO so much! Straightforward and to the point, problem solved :) One question tho, when I open the level after making this adjustment, part of the viewport appears to be obfuscated, any idea why that might be happening?

What happens if unreal wont even open? I only have the dashboard. The project error shows the same message on open

Im useing a RTX4090 128gb ram @8000mhz and a AMD7950x. When i open a mesh and try to view UVs it gives me this warning... I understand 2048 is alot but with 16GB of VRAM, should i even be experiencing this issue when im just viewing a simple mesh?

Maybe it should be noted that the default setting is 128 (atleast for UE5 and i believe 512 for UE4) so if you have a value that is that high thats on you because by default projects don't have such a high value.

Another simple patch. To allocate maximum memory for virtual textures, at the Console: r, Streaming.Poolsize 0. IN the EDITOR: Enable all virtual memory support for textures, Light Mass. It will shorten the load time. REQUIRES RESTART.

I have mine set to 128 for an old game look. I have a super optimized scene and everything. Whenever I try to delete anything from my scene, it'll crash to fatal error and give me an out of memory error. Any ideas?

I have ran into this problem so many times....even with a 3090.... optimizing your scene is so important. Let me know if I can help you in any way :)

getting the error in 5.1 preview. the .ini file has no definition for reflection capture but in the editor, it is set to 512. running out of things to try! The specific error says "out of video memory trying to allocate a rendering resource"
