Ninety Days in Unreal Engine 5

We wanted to see what was possible when you pair Unreal Engine 5, the world’s most open and advanced real-time 3D creation tool, with Quixel Megascans, as well as assets from Sketchfab and the Unreal Engine Marketplace.

So we set a challenge for ourselves — a project we call “Ninety Days”.

What our teams were able to accomplish far exceeded our wildest expectations, creating over 40 distinctly stunning environments in just a few days each — something that would’ve been unimaginable just a few years ago.

We hope you will enjoy this showcase!

I feel so lucky to be alive on this generation, this is the best time to be creative so If you feel like getting into it, don't even think it twice, go and have some fun!

I love how much power this gives to the average person trying to compete against the big guys

The amount of depth each scene has is something absolutely alien... You could literally make a game out of each and every one of them. The scene at 1 min and the Zombie greenhouse literally gave me chills.

I just hope I live long enough to be able to witness this level of detail and realism in VR!

I've been playing games since the late 70's... Yes I'm old. Seeing this is just jaw dropping how tech has come on in the last few years never mind 40 years. STUNNING.

It should be renamed "Surreal Engine 5" - these were amazing.

Mindblowing.
Some are so real, the only thing that betrays the fact they are not real, is how perfect the shot is.

People talk a lot about games in Unreal Engine 5 but you can make movies in this engine. It's insane.

This looks unbelievable. Wish there was an UNDERWATER scene!

This is the gold standard right here. The use of surprise visual elements is quite incredible.

I'm absolutely blown away.

Phenomenal job by every Artist, Developer, and overall Creative that had a hand in creating these beautiful artworks and the platforms that allow us to create for ourselves and share our art with the world. I didn't decide to begin learning 3D until a couple of years ago, and I couldn't be happier that I did, as it's almost never to late to follow a dream.

the fact that i can't tell with some scenes whether its real life or not says a lot, this is insane can't wait for devs to use its potential

Omg .. as a world building nerd who loves to imagine places and write stories about them, this video makes me want to learn everything about 3d and ue5 just to make those places that are trapped in my imagination come to live so others can see them too 😭

Edit : you guys are so nice thanks for encouraging me i will do my best to start learning 💗💗

I know Lumen and Nanite are not yet VR ready, but if these shown surroundings/scenes one day could be visited in VR……. 🙏🏼

OMG, this is friggin' NUTS! I'm an Eighties girl, so I remember when graphics were eight-bit blockiness. The photorealism in this technology is absolutely mind-blowing! These artists have done some beautiful work; and they've made some story ideas start to tickle my imagination. Congratulations to the talented individuals behind each of these clips; my hat is off to them all!

I remember when Unreal Engine 4 came out and everyone absolutely floored at how awesome it was... people said it couldn't possibly look any better than this. Now we have 5 and they've outdone themselves again. Majority of AAA titles are all built on the Unreal Engine. Epic is also including temporal sharpening/upscaling which means you won't need a $2000 video card to enjoy it.

The engine truly deserves its name but also big props to the artists who made the assets and those who made the scenes.

Growing up as I did I had pong, colecovision, atari, original NES, all the way to my PS5. Gaming and computers enabled me to have a career in IT and I will forever be grateful and amazed at what technology and software can accomplish.
