I'm an awful diy(er). I did your basement shelving project but sanded all the wood first and painted it white. It just looks amazing. People now ask me to do it at their places. You're the best online teacher I've seen so far. Merci beaucoup.

The question about tools rusting outdoors - use T9 boeshield. I have a garage workshop that moved from a very damp basement shop. I've been treating all my cast iron tools with T9 and not had any issue with rust.

I’m lucky in that I have a paid for house. It was cheap but needs some works. It was built in the 50’s and probably built shoddy and quick to give workers at a nearby, now abandoned, plant. I’m not even sure where to begin with all the projects that need completed. Once I do have a plan of attack I’ll try to find the relevant videos and research/follow along.

Even if a non dollar-denominated asset sees no real gains during inflation that's still much better than holding cash and seeing your real purchasing power undermined. In other words, sometimes you have to chose between the lesser of two evils.

I was surprised when you said you don't do gas lines.
It's just basic plumbing. When we bought this house 3 years ago, we couldn't get the gas turned on due to a leak. No idea where the leak was, and had no way to pressurize the line to search for it. So I replaced it all, and changed a bunch of stuff to clean it up and add shut-off's for everything. After that, I had a local plumber come do a pressure test and sign off on the work, and fax the ok to the gas company.
The plumber got $75. I have all new gas lines in my 1890's house. I also got myself two new 14" pipe wrenches.
The two keys are yellow teflon tape, and teflon pipe dope. And when you think it's tight enough, give it another turn.

"I go to the DE Walt service center and they fix it on the spot"

I bought a BRAND NEW $600 DeWalt miter saw on Amazon, and it made a grinding noise THE FIRST TIME I USED IT.
I brought it to the Dewalt service center on Adelaide Street in London Ontario, and they told me they would get to it in 4-6 weeks.
BTW, Great Channel!!! I love your tips!

You should mention to these people about paintable silicone caulking because putting silicone on baseboard or any area that's going to be painted is a No-No right
