In India we eat fermented foods rich in microbes. It is about absorption not about being vegan and non vegan. People who eat just 1 meal a day also live to a hundred.

I think she is sharing as she is learning too, she is very informative and gives the latest info to chew on. I appreciate her tracking all this and presenting. Then you consider and decide for yourself. There will always be more questions as to how the info all adds up, Love this channel and appreciate her hard work and effort. We will always be learning new things and trying to do the math. She doesn’t claim to know all the answers I somehow feel we are trying to do the best we can together and she bring a lot to the table to help us and it’s always worth at the very least, a listen. So much to learn and consider still 😊

I have not eaten any meat including fish since 1984 when I was 34, I had a vegetarian diet. Then in 2017 I started a vegan diet and am still kicking at 71 however I do take vegan B12 supplements.

The key is to have your levels checked regularly. Then you know if you need to supplement.

from my experience, omega-3 has worked miracles for me. or i can say it once changed my life totally.

i stopped eating meat in 1985. i was busy studying and couldn't do cooking so i couldn't go full vegetarian, had to compromise by eating fish sometimes with egg+milk. in early 2000s i settled at my new house, working at home and starting cooking for myself and gradually i became vegan years later.
but during all those years i was so foolish about healthy diet and had negative ideas about supplement. for almost 20 years i suffered more and more severely from headache 3 types (tension, migraine, cluster). to the point that i couldn't worked and live normally by the end of 2010s. it's like hell. it's like headache was always there in my head. my insomnia also got worse and my head and tendons also felt stiff and inflexible.
this went on until 2019 in my 50s i finally educated myself more about vegan and supplement. first i started adding more flaxseed in my diet but i didn't feel much change, then one day i started having fish oil and suddenly everything changed like a miracle. after that i began to eat more good fats, and add some more supplement.
now i look back and realize that all my life i’ve got problems from lacking nutrients and always underweight. and now i’ve tried to cover them all. I’m not tortured by insomnia anymore. my deadly and daily headache has gone since 2019. and i believe 100% that omega-3 is so vital to brain function and any vegans need to make sure you have enough omega-3 and other good fats or your brain will go terribly wrong soon when you're at certain age.

love this channel. vegans shouldn’t stop learning and always keep your minds open :)))

This is what I want. Unbiased videos. Thank you. Not sure why Dr Fuhman spoke against coconut oil at the end. I'd say unrefined coconut oil is positively beneficial. I know he is a no or minimal added oil person but I think he's incorrect about that (with regard to unrefined oils). Once again I'd advise people to consider information from a variety of sources but make their own minds up and not to blindly worship these doctors as gurus

90% of my meal is plant base but do eat very little meat to counteract any lack of research or evidence. Much better to mix food rather than restrict your diet other than processed food.

I simply use algae oil for omega 3, and B12 fortified soy milk. It’s not a problem that can’t be solved with a few supplements 🤷‍♀️

So, what about the Dr Klaper video you posted, didn't you say you're reconsidering supplementing DHA/EPA because of that? Now you share this, which is completely unscientific.

Hi, I'm just reaching 70 years of age. That's my three score years and 10 all used up. I had to retire in 1990 due to a nurilogical illness thought to be MS at the time. Finally I was diagnosed with HSP with a simple DNA test. It is a neurological condition which first affected my legs. Now it's slowly creeping up my body being to weaken my arms. I'm now a wheelchair user. Also I've been a vegan for five years. Before that, I was a vegetarian for 24 years.
Is there anything I can do to improve my situation.
Thank you.

I really feel so strongly about the missing support to the vegan community. For years without most leaders in this way of life did recommend B12 and clearly stated that was all the supplements you needed..so I take this without fail. Well, I’m a very thin WFPB follower and I NEVER get enough food to make this work. The food is so filling that 2 meals is all I can eat. Now I have to search for this info and it is frustrating beyond belief!! Why is DHA not added to the list of MUST TAKE supplements? I finally heard about this from Dr Klapper and started a vegan DHA..and with my B12 I figured I was ok… now I see other experts saying I need other supplements (and, of course, they just happen to sell those!)
What else am I missing?? I have so many books, cookbooks and newsletters. All only mention taking B12..now D is popping up…-and now DHA!I feel let down by the experts.
