I really liked the Natures Own Keto bread. Texture is good and it makes a great sandwich. I finally decided to test my Blood Glucose. It was disappointing. I ate 2 slices with butter toasted. Starting BG was 85, after 1 hour it was 130. That is a huge spike. I don't remember when I saw 130 on my meter. Everybody reacts different but you cant trust whats on the package. It was too good to be true. At least for me.

I will try Hero bread, I currently have both Arnold and Natures own, Arnold does have a better taste and texture, but, there is 60 calories per slice compared to 35 on the Natures own, which is almost double, to top it off, the size of the Arnold, is puny, Natures own is more filling, in that regard. how do I deal with it? toasting, and butter, I rarely eat breads un toasted anyway, and the texture is much improved on both of these.

I think the Arnold is t\he same as Brownberry, which is the brand we get in Minnesota. Agreed it has the most "real" bread taste/texture.

I love the Natures Own bread. Soft chewy and great taste. The Arnold bread has this weird grittiness to it that is off putting

So I bought the Hero Bread and buns at your recommendation. They sell them at Sprouts Farmers Market on the west coast. Price is cheaper than most keto breads. So I was surprised. The thing I like most about the bread is it's size. Way larger than all the other keto breads out there. The buns? Meh. Sola Hamburger buns and Kroger's carbmaster hamburger buns tastes way better. Sola is pricier but you can get it cheaper at Walmarts and Kroger's is competitive to regular bread prices. When I first tried the Hero bread, it had that typical back taste of most keto breads but I got use to it and it's great with butter and jelly and as a sandwich. But it needs a condiment to block all those preservatives and additives that give keto bread that non-bread taste. I don't know why a bread company, a healthy bread company, like Dave's Killer Bread, just doesn't make a real bread and just throw in tons of fiber to lower the carbs, where they don't have to put in all that crap that makes keto bread not taste like real bread.

the hubby likes the hero seeded but its so expensive. i will buy some arnold tomorrow. i assume they too have seeded.

Hero white has a bit of sour taste like sour dough.
Hero seed is sweeter. Most ppl prefer hero seed.
Personally I think both are great! Esp hero white is zero carb whereas hero seed has 1 net carb per slice

I find that most keto breads are way better taste and texture-wise when toasted. They tend to burn really quickly for some reason though. There are only a few breads I like "raw, " Arnold being one of them! Schmidt's 647 is probably the best, but with 6 net carbs per slice it's a little spendy to eat too often. I hope I can find Hero near me somewhere soon because you've got me excited about that one!

I saw a review that hero spikes blood sugar. That might be a individual response, but id check. I wanted to try arnold but chicory root ruins me.

I ordered HERO bread online. Plus a few croissants. Kill me now! The bread was ok but the croissants were to die for!

I don't know about you but I never eat bread right out of the bag without it being toasted and buttered. That's the only way to test if a keto bread tastes decent. Even non keto bread right out of the bag I wouldn't eat. The only bread I would do that with is artisan fresh out of the oven, like Italian or French loaf that's just been baked.
