I have a question, just add Synology 10g card and use usb 2.5g on my Mac and I get same speed as before upgrade I planing to get at least 2.5g speed on local network. I’m also using cat8 Ethernet cable

10GB is nice and spicy. Having done this on a Syno before, the bottleneck shifted from the network down to the spinning rust drives ... and there was no budget for SSD.

lol... nah I'll stick with a cheap optiplex based 4 bay NAS... with such upgrades as a 25$ intel X540 10g card.

You can just buy 2.5Gbit USB adapter, install drivers and have 2.5Gbit for like $10
