I like your no nonsense approach to the topic and I agree with your aesthetic appeal. The only qualm I have is the short length of cable limiting the distance of your gear to the wall outlet. As a general rule, I always purchase 2 meter in length PC’s so that I have the flexibility to position equipment with a little more freedom. And, for ease of resale as well. Thanks for the video!

If the Rolling Stones and AC/DC use it on stage, you know it's good.

I’ve got a power cord with my Hegel amp. Standard stuff. Works great. All the rest is just for looks and to support the economy. If you know something about current you know. By the way, most audiophiles are 50+ in age. They can’t hear anything above 10K Hz so please stop saying you can hear the difference between power cables. (Although I know it’s hard if you just spent $100 or more at a Python like power cable…) What really helps is an ultra low noise power supply for your dac/streamer like Bluesound or Wiim. That’s a good investment.

Shielding is more about preventing noise from the power cable impacting on the signal wiring. The copper braid shielding looks less than wonderful in the Amazon images. The basic DIY cost would be something like £5 for a meter of raw cable, £15 for good quality connectors and another £1 for braiding. So around £21 / $25. Therefore $35 seems very decent value overall. I've made my own star quad mains cable using 4mm2 silver plated copper conductors and 'Furutech' plugs. I'm yet to try it on the CD player, but I expect little difference when compared with my DIY concoction using shielded Lapp Olflex 2.5mm2 conductor cable.

Yes, massive difference in my sound. I could care less what anyone says. Now, back in the day with $1K "Audioquest" cables, I thought the whole "snake oil BS applied and so, stayed away. But these ( and I could care less about aesthetics, neither should you) at 35 dollars, well I bought one for my Violectric V281 headphone amp and plugged it right in to the wall and I could NOT believe the difference in the bass "prescence" and wider sound stage (just with my hifiman Arya headphones), ....so I proceeded at 35 to 65 dolars each tp connect my integrated amp, CD player and Denafrips DAC in my big sytem and voila, same APPRECIABLE difference! Thus, 30 years ago and at $1K a clip, I wouldn't dream of wasting such moola. Now at these prices one would be stupid NOT to do so!

I love my thick cables for what they are.. Audio jewelry.
Glad to find a channel without a delusional person talking nonsense about audio improvements from a power cord 😂👍

Most of the info on these cables is to use with audio equipment but could it also be used with a 4k player like the Panasonic ub-dp9000? Like you said it’s just for a nicer presentation. The power cable that came with the player only has 2 holes on the connector side and 2 prongs on the side that goes into the wall. The info I found online is that the Panasonic is rated at 120v 60hz

Had those. A good upgrade from standard issue power chords without shielding. Does not hold a candle to an entry level AQ cable. So yes, very "budget" audiophile.

The only one way to check them is blind test. If we buy and we see it and we spent some cash we are expecting something and we are hearing what we are expecting. Blind test with repeats (means the same cable used twice or triple) can give correct answer. 35 $ for this cable is just perfect. And this is not signal cable - this is power cable. And looks good.

It’s definitely worth the $35 bucks on the cool looks department 😎, may I make an observation with no malice intended the Astro headset/headphones are absolutely hot garbage ☹️

Looks only, a power cord can have ZERO effect on the sound from the system. People don't understand what a cord does or how the power supply in the equipment works. Also be careful as that heavy stiff cord can damage the connectors in your equipment and even the wall outlet.

It really look like a snake cable. You can start you car with it! Yes it look cool but still ridiculous... Try to plug this in a regular socket!!! too big (and ridiculous).

I will not spend $35 on something cause it looks cool. Don’t care about cool looking.

"It look very good".... this is the only truth about audio cables, to look good

I had AQ CV8 (36 V), cca 350 euro for 2x2 I have QED 79, 3 euro/meter....

Any difference in sound? NO!!!!

But QED is not fancy looking cable like AQ

PS

my father is a chemist, I quote him "Copper is an "invisible metal", because it oxidizes IMMEDIATELY and what can be seen is COPPER OXIDE", coper and coper oxide are not the same material.

I hear a difference in power cables, though only since moving beyond B&W 601 and Cambridge DAC magic (yes yes I know, cannot possibly be real).

Those who say that cables don’t matter just means their system is not good enough to hear the difference😂

I understand you bought this power cable for the looks and vibe.... I must admit that I partly belong to the believer camp..

But now you are spending 35.00 on fancy looks, which is fine with me. But if you had invested this in material that looks less fancy, but sounds better in practice. It doesnt have to be expansive, I think even under 30bucks.

Get Belden 19463 or Lapp Olfex, use imitation Oyaide plugs or Martin kaiser Iec and Bals schuko. Under 35.00 a noticeable upgrade in sound!

Cheapest upgrade you can do is upgrading the stock glass fuse by a ceramic which cost only 70cents.

Probably getting a shit load on me right now because of that fuse comment. It's not that the fuse is magic, but it does less damage than a glass fuse for several reasons. Which, by the way, I'm not going to name. Do the test yourself for 70cent or follow my advice regarding Power cables. Don't believe it fine. But I can't stand it when people biasedly call out that something can't make a difference without experimenting. That it is hard to believe I understand immediately. I also came from the non believers camp and look is where I am now. Being skeptical is healthy, having an open mind even more so. :)
