To be honest, working from home should have been implemented 10yrs ago. Most companies complained that it would be a security issue because of confidential information. But let’s be serious, the biggest crooks are the CEOs and upper management. I never want to go back in the office because I like my freedom, I create my own schedule and the work still gets out. I don’t have to worry about office gossip, management telling me I spent an extra two minutes on break nor wearing business casual in the 100 degree Florida heat. I don’t miss an office environment!

I would say 30-40% of being at work is bull$hiting and gossip anyways.

A lot of managers are really pissed off at this new way of employees getting work done. It greatly reduces micromanagement and takes away from the value of middle management.

CEO's went from "it wouldn't work" to "it works really well"
when people did more overtime when working from home.

I save 2 hours a day, and about $4K a year in train/subway expenses working from home. Much happier this way.

Less air pollution
Less noise pollution
More motivated workforce
No wastage of time in commute
No stress due to commute
No need to construct a big office building or pay rent for it

As an introvert with social anxiety working from home is great for both work and my health, haven’Thad a panic attack in months so that’s an improvement

in a way the pandemic was perfect for the workers who had been commuting hours everyday. I hope senior managers realize that working everyday at the office is an outdated concept and socializing and face to face interactions can be accomplished with twice a week office time. the time I am spending with my kid because of COVID is priceless to me.

I don't mind commuting if it's 20 or so minutes by public transportation. An hour each way is a complete waste of time.

IF employers were forced to PAY for our commute time, then they'd change their tune immediately!

And why not saving money on renting offices and paying employees a stipend to let them rent homes with an extra room they can use as their office?

Finally the work world is becoming more inclusive for introverts

Pre-COVID, I woke up at 5:30AM to get myself and family prepared and get to the office by 8:30AM. Post-COVID, I wake up between 7:30AM and 8AM in order to start working at 8:30AM. Life is a dream now.

I think this whole experience has made people realize how pointless a lot of in office work is. The typical office worker is doing about two hours of actual work in a given day. The rest of the time is taken up with meetings, looking busy, and the like.

The downside of working from home is that some employer thinks that since you’re just at home you are available anytime 24/7.

I do like that disconnect between work and home, but I don't really like commuting in general. My ideal situation would be like a 10 minute walk to work.

I hope this means that people with physical disabilities will be more likely to be hired, given the lack of barriers now that people can work from home.

People should stay working from home so the ones who still have to go out, don´t have to struggle with traffic jams, overcrowded public transport, etc.

I find WFH much more enjoyable than working in the office. My job, in its entirety, can be done from my laptop. It is my hope that WFH will become a permanent option.
