The BEST way to work remotely.

Have you heard about X4X? It's the best way to do remote work to stay fulfilled, productive, creative AND regain your work-life balance.

☝️ Watch next and be awesome!

🏆 Master design with me

🔮 More about the video:
I have tried all types of work schedules, from hourly based like nine to five (9 to 5) all the way to X4X, both while working remotely and from an office. After years of experimenting I found out that X4X work style yields the best possible results, but it may be difficult to convince your employer to switch to it. Instead, you can ease them into that style using a couple of other methods I mention in the video like 4-2-4 and 4-4-4 , or something in between. Remote work is here to stay, but that doesn't mean you have to sit in a Zoom meeting for 8 hours each day like a drone. You can enjoy life, travel and have fun while working remotely and being very productive - even getting a promotion.

It's all about the right mindset, the right approach, and understanding how your brain works.

Thanks for this great video.
Managing breaks is one of the most underrated "skill", not only for remote workers but for people at office as well.

It is a great suggestion to organize 2 or 4-hour breaks, and it is definitely what everybody should do if possible.
However, it sounds wise not to forget to take very short breaks (10 minutes max) especially during work sessions lasting more than 3 hours.

Being a freelancer, I LOVE this freedom and it works for me as I enjoy breaking up all my duties thru the day. I don't have an attention span that allows for endless focus, haha 🤪.

My hubby on the other hand is the exact opposite and doesn't want to be bothered AT ALL once he sits down to his development projects. He gets completely sucked into them and needs the solid focus. He'll break for lunch w/some outside exercise time and then he's back to programming. So I guess he is closer to the 4-2-4 method.

Good stuff & thx for sharing ur thoughts.
More pls :)

Love it, but there’s a difficult truth about value: Many companies are not (really) based on value. Bosses, directors, and leaders are stuck in an industrial-age mindset where it’s about productivity, endless to-do lists, and the optics of consistent effort. A lot of “leaders“ have bullshit jobs that require a command and control attitude. They’ve spent years refining a position that looks relevant/important but it’s mostly about creating and selling artificial needs. Creative professionals who have the talent to add true value are usually blocked by these leaders (in one way or another). If we want a work revolution that’s sustainable, we need to eliminate these positions. Unfortunately, that would only put a large percentage of people out of work. I can’t count the number of people around me whose positions make no sense to me whatsoever. Very nice, intelligent people but their skill set, if they ever had one, has completely atrophied from years of pretending. They get in our way with meetings, pointless questions, and challenges that slow the team down with little to no benefit. To those who would say we just need better leaders, I’ve tested that theory, too. In almost every situation, when the leadership is absent the productivity increases manyfold. I wish designers could have a list of honest companies who are genuinely focused on value.

Yes, please more about the remote work :-) I started out in my new UX job onboarding in Germany for the last 3 months but I’m free now from June to work remote from Portugal for them. I’m excited to learn more what your tips would be, when there are meetings with stakeholders coming (which we often have over in the company) or how to stay present as possible with other UX tasks when remote. Thanks for the valuable content as always! 😊

I know some people that work from home and after work they stay at home doing nothing and I tell them to go outside to take fresh air and do some activities so they can compensate their bodies but it’s understandable they get mental tiredness. We have to do our best to do some activists even if it’s not necessary to go out.

That’s why I’m telling myself to stay productive the day I start to work from home

Relaxing at 30 years old and then when you 60 wait your 300$ pension, because when it was time to hustle you watched Netflix and relaxed! “Pay the price today so you can pay any price in the future” Hustle and work hard guys every day and don’t waste time on Netflix.

Hello Mr malewicz great video, you might not remember me but I commented on one of your video about the Google UX course and how I was battling with procrastination and you gave some of your advice on this. I just want to say thank you so much for your advice and I'm currently in the fifth course of the program.

The x4x model sounds great but how do you manage meetings? Do you have your meetings outside? What if you’re needed for something urgent?

Sounds like a super good approach 👍 (if you do not have kids)
