The way she says "feminine rage" with a glint in her eye and a pop of her knee is iconic

A big reason why this is such a problem is because women’s anger and rage is often diminished and used as a punchline—like the nagging wife or the crazy dramatic girlfriend. People see women getting mad and it’s treated as an annoyance rather than something to take seriously.

On the flip side, women’s pain and sadness is seen as something to take “seriously, ” because women are meant to be *protected* and saved (according to these stereotypes).

Feminine rage has two modes. Attack you right then or attack you in a cold calculated way

That scene was perfect because she attacked him. Imagine that man knowingly inviting her to her death and she just dropping a tear, bonkers

Seriously, Margot finds out Tyler purposely brought her to the restaurant to her death. They really expect Margot to just cry silently? I'd be angry too.

I loved the scene she's talking about.. It really added to the character and her personality.. So great input on her part.

The single tear is so antiquated. That comes from a time when women were powerless and could do nothing to unleash real rage for fear of more women getting hurt.

She saved that scene. He basically sentenced her to death in that scene. I'd try to end him first too.

After watching that movie and knowing why he invited her, if all she did was cry in front of him, I would've been extra disappointed.

As someone that grew up in a toxic family and relationships: sitting there silently like she describes completely ruined me and left me traumatized and a people pleaser. Part of my healing journey is me showing my real emotions like she wanted. It is not normal, healthy or attractive to sit there silently like men love to portray women. And yes its not every men but that isnt important right now. Right now its important for everybody to realize that it is not healthy to please people and hold in your emotions like that.

We need more healthy portrayals of feminine rage as much as we need more healthy portrayals of masculine emotions.

The sitting silently with one tear falling isn't feminine rage. It's DESPAIR. Sheer pure despair.

This is why I loved the movie Pearl. It portrayed how the rage I sometimes feel just being bipolar. Minus killing people of course.

99% of the time when a man says “she is crazy” what he means is “she is validly angry with me, and I don’t want to accept responsibility, so I will just deflect and call her crazy”.

Fr. They think women are not real human beings 💀😂

She is onto something because some men will date you and never see you the same after you get justifiably mad/angry/frustrated. Like, some guys do not see us as people with a full range of emotions I swear.

men have never been hesitant about expressing rage & anger, but let a woman express hers & they're so afraid & frightened they diminish it & humiliate women to stop it

I'm glad this was added to the scene she was talking about. It's the only way it would have been believable. She's totally right, women in films cry when they would be insanely angry in real life.
