Finding the best PS5 headset isn't easy and that goes for any console because of USB compatibility along with latency through the controller for the 3.5mm jack. In this video we test some of the best gaming headsets on the PS5 and also discuss compatibility with Bluetooth, USB DACs and USB-C dongles.

It has Bluetooth yet most Bluetooth headphones don't fucking work. I was so annoyed about that in the PS4 days

Sound Blaster G3 works just as well & it's half the price of the G6. Just use the preamp option and theres more power then you'll ever need (unless your using 300 ohm cans). You get EQs, presets, game/chat mix. Low volume was my biggest gripe with wireless console headsets so I just switched to a sound card and I'm good😊

Thank you so much for this detailed audio summary for PS5. I have the same problem for a very long time. PlayStation is somewhat a close ecosystem that doesn't have any speaker sold of their own.

Deserves a sub!

Idk how people use the Maxwell. My neck gets fatigued after an hour of wearing it. WAY too heavy for something designed to be worn for hours.

Cooler Master MH751 and MH752 are the best headsets to use on PS5 (and PS4) I have found through numerious testing. Just be sure to update the firmware on the MH752 for it to work properly on the PS consoles.

Here’s something to add to the limit in sound when using a usb dac on the ps5. I did this and found the sound too low, so I bought an amplifier, this introduced electrical noise. I don’t know if that’s part of the reason for sound limits but it makes sense.

I’ve got the A40’s TR with the Astro HDMI adapter and that’s capping me at 60HZ by using it, what headset doesn’t cap me as I want good audio I can customise without giving up the original 120HZ

Was using a HyperX Cloud 2 Wireless on PC. Before getting a PS5, I was excited to see on HyperX's website that these are compatible with PS5 and I don't have to buy a new headphone just for the PS5 but when I got the PS5, it was really a bummer to see that although the headphones are just plug and play but the volume is low like it matches the 20% volume on PC. My basic Logitech office headphones work much better since they use 3.5mm jack on controller.

Loving the Sony Pulse for gaming. For my PC I used the Beyerdynamic DT 770Pro. To solve the lacking of power from any motherboard I’ve ever used, I rely on the Creative G6 Dac. Problem solved. Tried to use the G6 + DT 770 on the PS5, works, but the Pulse is more practical and good enough.

awesome video; crazy that anything console or windows based can't figure out bluetooth audio. Took the Switch 5+ years to do it, and its a fvckin' mobile device!

Seeing you're a fan of DT 700 Pro X, maybe also test their wireless MMX 200 headset too.

I moved to pc then "no time for gaming at all", but i used to be a hardcore ps4 gamer. I used a usb headset that worked fine, and eventually moved to a USB mic (no issues) and a wired headset into the controller, and that was a perfect setup even in competitive settings. I just kept the controller connected 24/7 so battery was irrelevant

Brother, DACs do not increase volume. Why are you putting them in and expecting the audio to suddenly be louder. If your issue is audio strengh then use an AMP not a DAC.

I prefer the Sony Inzone line. Not as good of sound as the maxwells but lighter and more comfortable. They can also use Sony's chat mix natively on the headset just like the pulse. They are superior in comfort and sound to all of the pulse line. Add some Yaxi SDPad2 earpads for supreme all day comfort.

The biggest issue is plugging a headset or earbuds into the 3.5mm aux port into dualsense causes huge delay..

Over the years, the only bugs I've run into with the PlayStations and wireless Cloud headsets involve the Cloud Alpha actually. At launch there was a bug with the noise gate, which was resolved by a firmware update pushed out by HyperX. Since then it has now moved into randomly having three times the gain it should have on kind of a coin flip. Putting the console to rest mode and bringing it back out of it may snap it out of it. I've had cloud flights and Cloud 2 wirelesses for years, neither had any issues at all on PS4 or 5. Just the alphas for some reason really hate this thing.
