I have mine laid down. Just easier to find a spot for it as it's taller than the gap under the TV. Plus I had nightmare visions of it getting knocked over stood up.

Whenever i hear people complain about why i chose to lay my consoles horizontally and not vertically my answer is always the same and that's because it's safer horizontally because there's no chance of it getting knocked over and breaking thus being out nearly $600.

Mine is like that too. I read about the thermal paste running and heard it was safer to leave flat. Fits on my tv stand perfectly on its side as the tv takes up the full length of the tv stand so mine has to be on its side. Feels like the right way to me.

You get better airflow through the fans if you have it on the side, upright you still get airflow but it’s better to have a mount with a fan
