12:08 to me is the biggest flaw, as others have pointed out. At this moment in the original, this really showed Vader troubled and really the start of his inner conflict, which is entirely lost in the changed version.

My favorite change is putting Ian McDirmad as the emperor. It makes more sense continuity wise, and you can see how he is above Vader better, in terms of leadership.

Thank you so much for verifying the change of Vader saying “Bring my shuttle.” after his battle with Luke. I felt like I was going insane. This line to me is the most egregious of all the changes because it takes away the seething anger that Vader had at that moment. Thank you so much and I hope this gets changed back at some point.

There's some dumb changes here and there, but I think for the most part these edits were a genuine improvement. The emperors actor change was honestly the harshest, yet best IMO just for how inconsistently different the two originally look between ESB and ROJ. Also Lukes falling scream was kind of stupid, so appreciate that as well.

I do like how the wampa was dealt with better in the original cut. Just hearing the noise roaring, the shadow of it moving, then just the smallest second to get an idea of what it looks like before it gets it's arm cut off! Added a good degree of horror to that scene.

had the Original VHS box set. It even had changes from the theatrical. I played those tapes so much they wore out. My parents replaced it with the '97 box set right around the time Episode 1 was hitting theaters. I HATED the changes. It only went downhill from there. If it wasn't for Harmy's Despecialized Editions, the OG Trilogy would be dead to me.

For some reason, I LOVED the line: "You're lucky you don't taste very good!". Having that changed disappointed me more than it should have.

7:26 I think a change easily missed is that the music for this entire scene is differently arranged.
You get another clear example of that as the Slave 1 flies off, in the 1980 version the music stops. In the Special Edition it keeps playing music (music that was played earlier in the original version)

I never understood the dialogue change with Luke talking to R2 after the sea creature spits him out. Was it that Jedi don't make jokes? Because Obi Wan seemed to joke all the time and I thought that was a cute/funny line.
