Thermocamera is expensive. However very useful not only for CPU fault finding. If electronic repairman, electrician or HVAC technician can afford at least $350 worth thermocamera with 160p+ resolution, he must get it. I agree - alcohol under zooming lens or microscope is nice simple method. We used thermal paper from fax machines or cash terminal receipt rolls - overheated faulty components left nice dark rectangles :)

hello mat excell video as usual . i have a question plz . i have lenovo was dead charged battery manually tested laptop came back on . one day after again all battery charged has eeen drained to ziro and now whatever i am trying to charge it manually (by bench power supply) it doesnt take any charge ?! is the battery dead or i did break it down you think ? thanks a lot

Thank you Sorin, i have a pga socket cpu, the problem is when i check the core coil and other components near they all beep with ground, but if i take out the cpu from the socket then there is no beep with the ground, can you please suggest what can be the problem there.

01:07 the two phase on the left of the cpu is VCCGT they're for the intel graphics. Three on the right is Vcore, they're for cpu core. It has nothing to do with The Turbo Boost.
