Habits she said I found interesting:
1. Have a donating bin in your closet/have seasonal donation clean outs
2. Keep counters clear (it’s visual clutter, dust collectors)
3. 15 minute cleanups everyday
4. Shop your stash, look at what you have before you purchase another item
5. It’s ok for empty spaces
6. Be GRATEFUL for what you have

The “haven’t worn in one year” hack would normally work for me, but 2020 messed that up for sure. All I wear is loungewear now 😆

English teacher here. I have 4 pairs of shoes and several hundred books. Zero regrets. Gimme all the books.

1. One in, one out;
2. Donate clothes not worn in one year;
3. Keep your counters clear (especially in kitchen and bathroom);
4. Identify the categories you tend to hoard and set a limit;
5. Do a quick clean twice a day;
6. Do a seasonal/quarterly purge;
7. Shop your stash before purchasing more;
8. Clear your digital clutter;
9. Embrace empty space;
10. Be grateful for what you already have.

The world is too obsessed with consumption. Buy, buy and buy some more. One tip to help with minimalism is to limit your space, so you don't feel like you have to fill it.
Glad to see this.

Having a donation bin is truly life changing! It helps you “throw away” your item easier without the commitment of it leaving your house on garbage day. You live without the item for a few months and realize that 90% of the time, you really didn’t need it!

She inspires me to get moving. Whether it’s cleaning, decluttering, learning. She has such a zest for learning and life. I watch it and I’m like “Hell yeah I’m going to reorganize my closet!”

Could you make more of these? I'm trying to declutter and live with less. It's my 2021 goal

The last tip - ❤️❤️❤️ We all have wayyy too many possessions that we take for granted! Be grateful for what you have be it material possessions, loved ones, food, etc!

"4 people in the house hold, 4 mugs" me, by myself, with 10+ mugs...todays going to be a good day of decluttering!

I am 72 and I have been sewing since my teens. Sooo, fabric is what I have way too much of. I have been quilting almost exclusively from my stash for almost 10 years. When I do buy fabric it is for a quilt back. I agree with you about being grateful. I try to put a line of gratitude in my bullet journal each day. So yesterday's was, " We put the new patio shed together in ONE day!" Now for the one in and one out. We put the old shed out on the street and it was gone in less that 2 hours. So we have a new, roomier shed and someone in our community has a good, smaller shed. I always learn something from your posts.

One kitchen minimalist decluttering tip I learned from another YouTuber (The minimal mom) is to lay your table like you would for a big Thanksgiving dinner. And then, whatever items (serving dishes, plates, wine glasses, cutlery, etc) you didn't use can be donated.
If you don't use it all year, and you don't use it for Thanksgiving, you'll probably never use it.

As my kids were growing up we made a point for them to go through their toys before their birthday and Christmas and donate things.

Mine is scrapbooking/craft stuff! I back on my supplies 3 years ago. My best friend was a grade 2 teacher so I gave my duplicates of markers, pencil crayons, crayons, writing utensils, file folders, glue sticks, etc. I went overboard and bought so much stuff and tossed them aside. When I went thru the KonMari method I was shocked with the amount of stuff I have. She was so grateful because teachers usually have to use their own money for some of the classroom supplies. I learned from that moment to be minimal, organized and keep track of things. I buy a few extras for scrapbooking and crafts but I now longer go overboard!!!!

I’m a maximalist in lounge clothes (leggings, oversized t-shirts) but a minimalist in actual clothing (like things that actually look nice 😂)

I'm not a minimalist, but I definitely like having clear-ish counter tops. Our house isn't large and doesn't have a good storage set up, so nothing is ever 100 percent clear but I do my best.

My first apartment where I lived alone, had items in EVERY possible space. Vases, pic frames, signs with quotes, and plants. I loved it because it was my first space alone. But now that I'm older I dont need that stuff anymore. 1. Decluttering it and donating or consigning it has felt so good and 2. Having breathing room in my living space is visually more appealing to me!! It is more calming and cozy. I like the cozy blankets and few pictures.

Also, LOVE the donate bin in or near closet. It is a game changer!!!! Love love love it
