Показать описание
Iliotibial bands syndrome or ITBS is one of the most commonly reported problems by runners and having suffered it from it myself, I can say that it is incredibly frustrating to get to manage yourself.
While that sharp burning pain that is felt on the outside of the knee and seems to come on at about the same distance every run can be challenging to get rid of, understanding the cause of it is the first step!
In this video, we give you the exercises, stretches, strengtheners and other strategies that you can use to manage and overcome this problem and get back to running or whatever activity it is holding you back from. More importantly, we talk about why it happens, the biomechanics that causes it and why a comprehensive approach to addressing it is needed to prevent it from coming back.
We also discuss the importance of evaluating the spine and the nerves that leave it and how it can be a Core Problem that is the greatest contributor to the dysfunction of the pelvis, hip muscles, and more and collateral damage and that it should be assessed to rule this out.
Exercises mentioned:
We believe you are meant to be healthy ... you just have to know how to meet the requirements: nutrition, movement, healing and an optimal Brain-Body Connection.
