I used to feel pain in my IT band from running, and it scared me from doing squats during that period. One time I tried pushing through which made me unable to walk without serious pain for days. I was unable to figure out what it was called until now, and so never found any treatment except for rest, which thankfully seems to have done the trick. With this video, I can address it properly if it every decides to come back. Maybe do some prehab too :) thanks!

This is the first it band video that makes sense to me. It's always "tfl tfl tfl" whenever I listen to any video on it, even though pretty much everyone gets more knee pain on the nondominant leg and pretty much everyone's nondominant leg is the more externally rotated, which would indicate that it's the leg where the tfl was less tight. If the glutes are firing upper-fiber heavy, you'll get more pull on the it band, and if you adductors are working overtime to keep the leg in line, that pull on the epicondyle is going to become essentially bilateral.

Day 1 doing this exercise and I feel my hip able to open up better. Felt a little irritation on the last set of the squats but that might be due to running beforehand.
Seems like this is what I should be doing.

This is a great video. I am male over 50. Right it-band where it joins knee is really soar and painful when I press there. I was wonder8ng if sciatica. I’ve had numbness along it’s path up to hip mid way for over a year. Feel soar above it towards hip at times. I have about same flexibility as her left side, not good. I need a pt like yourself. I will show my doc your video, great stuff.

I have had knee problems bc of my IT band. Went to therapy, it helped, but I once in a while still get the pain, I will try this out. I might give you feedback on a future video

Thanks for another wonderful video. I have IT band pain, BUT no problem with external rotation and MINIMAL INTERNAL ROTATION. Can you post a suggestion for limited INTERNAL ROTATION, please?
I can scratch my ear with external rotation, but ZERO internal rotation.
