Cast Removal at Home

I had to remove my own cast as no local hospital wanted the liability. Four weeks ago I had ankle surgery out of town. I hope this video helps others decide if this is something they can do at home or if they should seek medical expertise.

That’s not a bad u idea sticking a piece of metal under the cast in case you mess up.

Awesome. I'm looking to remove my own cast as well bc nobody wants to give an upfront cost for any hospital or outpatient procedures or visits. They're all programmed to send you to "billing." They're like parrots. It's amazing. But guess what? I called billing yesterday and still there was no price estimate for cast removal. It's quite frustrating.

Got to be careful with the Dremel tool

bad!! just use pliers next time..braking& biting the cast little by little. cast saw does not spin. it vibrates only and thus when it touches something soft it will only shake. in your case you just got lucky.
