The real reason why it has 2 30mm guns is because they couldn't figure out how to make a dual ammo feed mechanism work reliably and cheaply so they just used dual guns with one type of ammo loaded in each...

"clogged toilet in your dorm?.... Artillery and tanks". You got that point across beautifully

While the M2 Bradley can be equipped with a 30mm cannon, it is normally armed with the M242 Bushmaster chaingun that is 25mm ×137mm

Did you do any research to make this video?
Bradley has 25mm gun not 30mm
and terminator is based on T-72 not BPM
what a joke

The idea behind the BMP-T isn't _bad, _ really - a specialist vehicle for low-intensity urban combat sounds like a pretty good idea, all things considered. It was done in by a combination of bad tactics, insufficient numbers, and the problems normally found when a new piece of kit is used in combat for the first time.

Just bring me one picture of a destroyed terminator i dare you

The BMPT is not based on a BMP hull. It's based on the T-72. This makes it better armored than IFVs and other light vehicles.

One of the many things you learn very quickly in combat situations.... hopefully not the hard way.... is that there hasn't been an armored vehicle built that can't be destroyed by superior tactics.

Having a thing and knowing how to use it properly to get the most out of it are two very different things. Professional soldiers understand this, internet fan boys don't.

One thing I think the improved graphics show is forgetting is a tank is only as good as its crew. You can have the best tank in the world and still lose

It's not based off the BMP chassis but the T-72 tank instead. So it has extremely good hull armor but almost none for the turret. Expecting the next gen to have AI running it so it lives up to the "Terminator" motif. But knowing Russian corruption/lack of semiconductors/poor QC, it might be more of threat to themselves if they do field it.

One of the primary lessons the US and Western militaries learned as far back as WW2 is that situational awareness is king: if you're able to detect an enemy much sooner than your enemy can detect you, you gain the first strike advantage which allows you to dictate the battle into your favor. This is exemplified by how no matter how many times they create armored copulas for their tank commanders to protect them from enemy fire (such as in the M48 and M60 tanks), they always go back to just the simple commander's hatch for the tank commander to stand out of: yes it puts the tank commander at relatively more risk, but it also gives the tank commander a better feel of the battlefield around them, allowing them to make far better decisions on how to engage enemies, and of course the sooner an enemy dies the less danger you'll be in. By the same token, dismounted infantry will always have better situational awareness of the battlefield compared to even the most advanced armored vehicle, even if only by virtue of having more eyes on the field.

The Terminator is essentially the kind of solution you think up if you learned the entirely wrong lessons about how to conduct urban warfare, where thinking that just stacking on bigger guns to protect yourself is somehow the correct answer.

The title is not only misleading, it's is a flat-out lie.

For some reason I find it absolutely gut busting when the American dude with the rocket launcher blows up several armed men then is all happy and cheery about it (around 4:26). The horrifying nature of the content directly contrasting with the happy smiley animation really tickles me.

Putin: We will conquer Ukraine in days.
Ukraine: I'm gonna do what's called a pro-gamer move.

Meanwhile in the Russian army:
Generals decide to siphon off 10% with fictitious contracts
Colonels pocket 20% of the funds and material allotted for upkeep and training
Privates sell 30% of the amunition and protective armor
The Russian Terminator arrives on the battlefield with the fighting capability of Wall-E

I love that they point out the "great" gun depression of -5°, which reafirms how bad of a depression soviet vehicle have. Also, for those who don't know -5° of depression is pretty terrible for an IFV, they ususally have around -8°.

It's not a terminator. It's a DEATH STAR. Looks impressive, has a glaring weakness.

The BMP Terminator isn't a tank, it's an armored support vehicle

Quick correction: the design was based on lessons the Russians learned in Afghanistan in the 80's (yes they failed there before we did, but they failed faster :P) not Chechnya, they couldn't angle their tank/bmp turrets up enough to hit Mujahideen fighters on the cliffs/hills so instead used their ZSU anti air flakkers to slaughter them, after they retired their ZSUs they still needed something that could do the job so this was born. It wasn't used in Chechnya because it wasn't ready but they knew before Chechnya something like this was needed.
