Great advice. Also a great way to make synth sounds out of any sound by this same process 💯

You never have to learn how to do this if you make your own 808s

Also works the same in studio ones sampler if someone works with this DAW ☺️
You can set zero crossing points
in the sampler too, but also in the overall quantize/grid behaviour setting dropdown menu of the DAW ✌🏼

Good video. I started doing this back in 2012. I make all kinds of sounds doing this and add effects to it. Sometimes I load em into Omnisphere or MPC

there’s a far easier way to do this and get the same effect without loosing your entire 808 sound but i didn’t know this method so W

You've basically made a 'S' part of the ADSR curve (like when you actually makin your own 808 in a vst). Also to get rid of notes release overlaping set the voices to 1. Also apply it to whole percussion elements (hat rolls and kicks get waaay cleaner just from that alone before any processing).

A faster way is to click the 808 menu, drag the crossfade option all the way up 🤣

theres so many easier ways to do this, jus use the envelope function and then turn uo the cross fade

Why not just use the top end of the 808 sample and make a sub yourself that you can do anything with? Pitchbends, legato, anything

Normally if you put stretch instead of resample it doesn't cut

or just use the crossfade knob in the sampler

i been k new about this but the snap to zero-crossing made my shit sound so much smoother.

Now you can add an envolope to it to add the volume fading down back. But now it stays consistant

I just use stretch, but I also don’t have my 808s long . I usually have them at different lengths and cutoff pretty soon for more groove or space for synth bass and the low end of snares
