Should you bounce your deadlifts on the floor or reset every rep? 🤔

A lot of people think bouncing the deadlift from the floor is wrong because you use the momentum of the bounce to make the deadlift easier.

This is true but if you’re chasing more constant tension in your leg workouts, this is actually what you want to do.

But if you’re pursuing strength and you want to get stronger, use the dead stop reps and reset every rep.

That takes all momentum out of the deadlift and gets the most out of your muscles and gives you more time in the hardest part of the deadlift; which is the start of the deadlift when it’s coming off the floor.

Personally, I prefer to deadlift for smaller rep ranges. Starting at 2 reps and going no larger than 8-10 reps, so I always use the dead stop method.

Do you like to bounce or reset every rep?

Let's go!

This is touch and go. Where do you see the bar bouncing?
