After Israel invented this technique, it became a leader in agriculture. Netherlands shocked.

How Israel Greened its desert in Becoming a World’s largest produce exporter
How Israel became the most advanced country in Agriculture in the Desert
Israeli area is composed of a desert, Israel began planning while taking this projection as seriously as possible. As a result, Israel is currently regarded as one of the top water and agricultural product providers.

Israel's agriculture has grown astoundingly due to the constant water supply. Israel manages $2 billion worth of agricultural sales each year, with an unexpectedly large portion of profits coming from fruits and vegetables. They created a method known as "Drip Irrigation" that increases agricultural yields while allowing water savings of 6%. This method applies water to the plant's root system drop by drop. Another technique called fertigation, which uses drip irrigation and fertilizers, enhances the drip irrigation process. Israeli automated desert agricultural technology was recently hailed by the American Society for Horticultural Sciences as "one of the most important developments in food production in the last 100 years."

Israel is using a mix of both tech and planning to achieve astounding results in agriculture. Israel's large and growing precision agriculture sector comprises more than 450 companies offering advanced data collection and analysis technologies for more efficient and productive farming. These companies help farmers integrate all their agricultural data from multiple sources, i.e., imaging, weather stations, in-field sensors, etc. Among these companies, a few perform accurate real-time tests of plant tissue, soil, and water in the field, dramatically reducing the standard analysis procedure from 10 days to less than an hour.

High-resolution aerial imaging with computer vision and artificial intelligence is being used to show farmers what's happening in their plots down to the insect and leaf level and analyze that data to provide decision-making support. Another issue that farmers need is a need for exporting logistics and support. Many companies across the country give farmers constantly updated regulatory guidelines on a single dashboard. For instance, if a customer wants to sell in Walmart, the app automatically applies the relevant US regulations to the growing plant. This system also helps farmers manage resources, administrative processes and daily functionality with calendars, checklists, reports, maps, and digital document storage. Farming cooperatives can use the platform to assist and manage member growers.

Along with agriculture, the aquaculture industry is growing an average of 6 percent annually to meet the ever-rising demand for fish and seafood. But, with more than half the fish consumed around the world grown on farms where fish are crowded into tanks and given massive amounts of antibiotics, hormones and pesticides, there's an urgent need for sustainable and healthful solutions for commercial fisheries. So Israeli tech geeks developed a plug‐and‐play all-in-one water treatment system for aquaculture. The system increases fish productivity, has a minimal ecological footprint, enhances water conditions, and significantly grows profitability. If you compare Israel's current and past satellite views, you will see a significant improvement. You can visually see more green belts than barren dunes. Following a roadmap that helped Israel turn its deserts into a farmland oasis is beneficial for Israel and an example for other countries to follow.

Israeli achievements since settling in that desert have been truly inspirational. When I compare them with what Muslims have done in parts of the Middle East they control, the difference is stark. Long live Israel!

For anyone watching this video: the people who made this video didn’t do enough research ahead of time when they made this video. It’s as if they only used the results from the first page of google searches about Israel. For example, we don’t have 13 million people. We have around 7million. The rest live in Palestine, which isn’t technically Israel. But I can understand the confusion there, so that’s fine. However, it’s absolutely hilarious to say we didn’t “invest in EXPENSIVE desalination plants” and “instead” just harvested crops that could handle the salt. Umm… excuse me, we are one of the world leaders in desalination technologies…

The Growasis shown at first is a Dutch invention. Together with drip-irrigation the Growasis is unbeatable: 1+1= 4. True miraculous Maths.

Awesome. I’ve been there twice, 2019 & 2023. God bless Israel.

I’ve invested in a few Israeli Companies. When there’s a need. Israelites know how to get things done.

Australia, Egypt, and Ethiopia could all use this drip irrigation technology. In addition to food production it could also help prevent conflict over water resources. The fish farming looks very interesting, if more east Asian countries adopt these methods it could help reduce strain on ocean fish populations.

I love it. Conservation of water and food security gives Israel economic and environmental sustainability....all countries should follow.

Good initiative indeed. Israel can spread this knowledge and technical know how to its neighbours rather occupying Palestinian lands illegally. It will give Israel security and good friendly neighbours.

Israel is one country that
was able to harness
modern knowledge &
technology to compensate
for whatever challenges
& hurdles they are
confronted with in
their desert terrain.
Which is proof enough
that nature favors
those who have the brains
to tap its hidden
resources & blessings.

Drip systems have been used for 100s of years lol

I live along the Rio Grande River and they flood their pecan groves instead of using drip irrigation. The few farmers that do drip irrigation sell their excess water and it pays for itself in just a few years in water sales let alone lower water costs as there are old water rights agreements going back over 150 years and more. Some don't farm hardly at all (must farm something or no water) and just sell their water.

Israel has all the water they need. They have objectively solved the problems of desalination. Desalination works but requires a lot of energy, Israel has a “can do” attitude that is lost in red tape in the US.

Ancient China

Primitive drip irrigation has been used since ancient times. Fan Shengzhi shu, written in China during the first century BCE, describes the use of buried, unglazed clay pots filled with water, sometimes referred to as Ollas, as a means of irrigation.[1][2]
Modern development
Germany: subsurface pipe

Modern drip irrigation began its development in Germany in 1860 when researchers began experimenting with subsurface irrigation using clay pipe to create combination irrigation and drainage systems.[3]

They diverted the Jordan River. Let's talk about the environmental and socioeconomic fallout of altering rivers without implementing processes with replenishment of the areas which the diverted/dammed/altered river was serving.

In 1920, the land was called Palestine, the British presence was called British Mandate of Palestine, jews comprised only 11% of population and yes Palestinians were famous in agriculture snd they were major supplier for oranges to the entire world and many other products.
