I've been to a sustainable greenhouse farm in Israel, and I was able to see a lot of these innovations firsthand. It's incredible, and the vegetables I tasted there were some of the most delicious I've ever eaten.

As kid I remember having farming class every week here helping a farm in my town in South of Israel, this something we are proud of even people who born in the city, most of the vegetables in Israel come from the Negev(desert part), If Ukraine war proved anything is that globalized systems are dangerous and especially food should be grown natively as much as possible, innovation over imports should be the solution.

Israel was always ahead of its time on water conservation, farming, renewable energy. Solar panels were on so many building back when I lived there in 2000 and I recall they had turned a massive landfill into a thriving park. They're always coming up with game changing technologies. Last I read, a company named "N-Drip" came up with a gravity drip irrigation system that can cut 80+ % of CO2 and Methane emissions for farmers. Considering 27% of global CO2 emissions come from farming, this could be a revolutionizing technology in the fight against climate change.

It is simply unbelievable how Israel is a major agricultural exporter, having started with a dry desert without the necessary water. But quality agricultural products aren't the only exports; there are semiconductors and manufactured electronics, diamonds and gold, and pharmaceuticals products. They have good will and excellent management...

Dig a 2x2 block hole and fill it with 2 water buckets.

Israel is certainly innovative and resourceful. It's fascinating to see a desert being turned a piece of farmland.

Many farmers around the world look to Israel as a model of how to manage and flourish in conditions of water scarcity and a hotter, drier climate. As well as cherry tomatoes, the Negev is home to fish farms, olive groves, plantations of many varieties of fruit and vegetable, and many more unusual crops which are selected based on their response to the desert conditions.

My dad was using drip lines here in southern missouri in the 80s and 90s. When we cut grass we'd let it fill the grass catcher and then place the grass over drip line areas to help keep moisture around the roots. He went from growing tomatoes and corn to over time expanding to growing green beans, cucumbers, and yellow squash. Till he hurt himself we'd sell the extra tomatoes and corn from his Nursery business.

This is a great video, I had no idea Isreal was doing so much in desert farming. I have read that Arizona is starting to move towards this new type of desert farming to save water.

Ty for this video, the farming techniques used in Israel are really amazing, I used to work farming dates in the southern region of Israel called the "Arava", where temperatures regularly reach above 40 degrees celsius, the amount of different plants that are grown here in the middle of a mostly dry desert area is really astounding and very high quality. They would even bring soil from other regions because the ground is so salty and inadequate. Really fascinating stuff.

I've always wanted to implement this tech to Iranian farmlands being hit by draught since the I.R. ruined the countries infrastructure... I hope soon I can negotiate and implement this to all farmlands in Iran.

I can't help but be amazed at how much this has even changed since summer of 1977 when I spent the summer working on a kibbutz. Our kibbutz had oranges, apples, cotton, chickens & cows, whereas a friend of mine was up in the north where they grew bananas. At the time they were still using herbicides so we would have to cut the skins off tomatos and cucumbers before eathing them, after washing them throughly. Just the change in 40 years is amazing.

Israel is that one player that’s on nightmare mode, with little to no arable land and surrounded by enemies, but who is so skilled that they succeed anyways.

Wow, Israel is a motivation to other countries, mainly consisting of desert countries. Technology help many people from different aspects. Clean water is also a problem because water is polluted, also. Great Content; by the way, I love your videos.

As an Israeli in the tech sector, it’s still amazing the stuff some of our people had come with. We are so glad to share this to everyone even are not so friendly neighbours.

For all of you out there, I hope that when you think / hear about our small nation you will appreciate this not just focus on recent events.

Thanks for yet another amazing video!

Fun fact, Israel is the only country to become greener in the last 70 years, Which means Israel plants more trees than it cuts and even over plants! Amazing love this country!
