I like to colour select the sky, then invert the selection and feather the softness all in the colour correction

I like how you you use Final Cut Pro as your editor, the same as what I use! Thanks!

I’m using color finale 2 pro in FCPX. What a brilliant plug in with the choice of masks and tracking. Well recommended

Nice and helpful Stewart, thanks. The equivalent of the colour mask in a program like Premiere Pro might be the HSL tab where you can isolate and select specific colours to manipulate. It's also worth noting that for those trying these tricks, a drone with a good amount of dynamic range and colour depth would help!

This has given me the confidence to use it for my edits and client!

Thank you so much Stewart, just learned a ton of useful stuffs! Coming from photography and just recently starting to use FCP, I was frustrated about selection limitations due to these features not being obviously available. I'll now be able to make a big leap forward in my editing!

Thanks for developing these tutorials. They are the key reason I subscribed when I got my MA2. I must check whether the firmware updates have provided 10bit video - I fear not. Also, as a Filmora user, I'll need to work out whether I can apply a mask to an adjustment layer. It is interesting how these video processing programs are providing functions similar to my still image processors (in my case Luminar Neo). Keep up the good work.

The biggest problem is not being able to get live audio (well, maybe for me and a few others and not the majority of folks). Thanks for the video.

Many thanks Stuart. Really useful. As a fairly new Drone photographer over exposed sky/under exposed ground has been a real problem for. Been using the gradients in Davinci Resolve but not colour or luminance masking. Wish I'd subscribed to your channel sooner!!

I thought you may have given a little love to the “Curves” tool to improve exposure in the lower/darker areas.

Also a great place to add your LUT packs. For those of your who don't have them you should get them. Also take S&A master class it will take you films to a massive next level. It's paid for itself 10X's over for me as an amateur. I can old image what it will do for a pro. Best money you will ever spend.

Another tool to fix the dynamic range problem is the graduated ND filter. It might also be worth a mention

Nice tips and Final Cut Pro seems very friendly compared to da Vinci.
