I'm a single guy that had never baked bread in my life and I was watching Christines videos where she makes her no knead bread. She made it look so easy and it looked so good that I went out and bought the ingredients and the loaf tins and gave it a shot. It was good and it was really simple to make. So as they say if I can do it then you sure can as well.

My husband was short term disabled very unexpectedly, and off work an ENTIRE YEAR. Our pantry was literally a lifesaver.

Don't forget the pets when you are planning water! They need it too!

I'm a minimalist and have a stockpile of food! It's a huge priority for me. You never know when something will happen that makes buying food difficult, like extreme weather, job loss, etc. And I love that I always have enough ingredients to whip up a meal or dessert without having to run to the store.

For 15 years my family has always given me a bad time about my food storage. Well when Covid happened they now don't give me any crap. Hugs to you!

I would love to see a video of meals you would make in an emergency situation. Maybe a summer and winter edition (ie. summer you could use a BBQ or a fire pit, but not in a blizzard when it's actively storming.

Speaking from experience, a spouse losing their job is very stressful. Having food storage is very comforting! We know we won't go hungry. When I buy food, I write the expiration date on the can/package with a sharpie so I can easily see it. Once or twice a year, I go through the food and pull out anything over a year old. Then, I put it on the kitchen counter and we focus on making meals to use all that food up so it doesn't go bad. With food in the chest freezer, I pull older things out when we defrost the freezer and stick it in the refrigerator to use right away or I put it in the freezer part of my refrigerator so it is more "in my face" and I remember to use it up. Also, always stock up when things are on sale. Don't pay full price when you are building a food supply. Try to be realistic how much food you should buy before it expires. Love your vlog Christine! I felt bad for you when Clutterbug was putting down the idea of stocking up. You handled it with grace!

Thank you for your earlier prepper videos they helped me get ready for hurricane Ian. We were out of power for 2 weeks. The self stable milk from dollar tree was a life saver. We didn't have to try to brave the stores when they reopened cause we were already stocked up. Gonna share this video to remind my fellow Floridians that hurricane season is around the corner.

I grew up food insecure. anytime we had a couple of extra dollars we'd buy a couple extra things for "just in case". When we moved cross country for a job, our prepper pantry is what kept us going 😁

Popping in to gently and lovingly shame Christine about the rolled oats 😂 how about a "What to do with your 50lb bag of rolled oats" video?! Seriously though, your videos make my day every time, and some amazing tips

For anyone reading, another emergency/disaster preparedness thing that's relatively inexpensive but GREAT to have is some kind of portable toilet, liners for it, and litter to help absorb fluid and smell. Even the simple buckets with the toilet seat lid attachment are better than nothing if for whatever reason the toilets or septic/sewer system have been compromised. You're already stressed out enough in a difficult situation like that; the last thing you need is MORE stress worrying about how and where you're going to tend to bodily functions. Having a designated safe and sanitary place to go and a way to keep yourself and your loved ones clean and healthy is so so important when curating these prepper stockpiles. 👍

When the kids were growing up my pantry was way bigger. Saved me from running to the store daily.

Thank you for this ❤ I live in Christchurch, in New Zealand and survived more than a week on emergency supplies with my husband and then toddler son as well as my sister, her husband, their two kids and puppy in our very small first home (only 2 bedroom!) as my sisters house was badly damaged during the massive earthquake we had here in 2011. We had damage to our house and the whole city had no power, water, or plumbing. No shops were open, there was no medical centres open except the one major hospital which was dealing with serious injuries only and still having to transfer people to other cities. After ten days we managed to get on flights to stay with family at the other end of the country (and finally see a doctor for my cracked ribs🎉). I thought we were pretty prepared before that but I have become so much more organised since then and I really encourage people to get what they think they will need - and then just a bit more… if you ever actually need it you will be thankful. If a situation ever comes up and you do need it the last thing you need is to feel even more stressed as you watch the food supply shrink. I love these videos so much ❤❤❤

I’ve been keeping a prepped pantry since the craziness of 2020. I recently became a first time grandma 🎉 and realized earlier this week that I have not been on a legit grocery shopping trip since he’s been born! And he will be 2 months old tomorrow! I’m super thankful for my food insurance!!

Can you do a video or give ideas for no-cook meals in case of an emergency? Like tuna and crackers? Love your ideas!

#1 has saved me so much in the grocery store. I used to buy and try all new snacks but my children only like 2 kinds of snacks. We also eat the same 10 meals in rotation and my family doesn’t like new food. My toddler hates sauce anything wet he will not eat currently. Also my kids prefer fresh fruit. They will not eat fruit cups. Lol. So I don’t but things that only one person in the house likes. Lol. You’re the best.

You honestly cannot have too much food. Extra supplies are good to have also. Get them when you can find them on sale, clearance before prices keep going up or before shortages. If there is something i dont like to eat, if thats all there is to eat, then i will eat it and not starve. I have never fixed beans from scratch but i have dry beans in my pantry. Nothing wrong about that. Spaghetti O’s is a go to thing for my grandkids. They love them. Cold or heated up, they dont care.

I buy my groceries on sale prices and stock up on the sales too. I definitely find my grocery bill is getting cheaper by the month as I continue to stock my pantry. I also use up what we have in the fridge and freezer, don't waste food, we eat leftovers and I cook too. We also have vegetarian meals 2 or 3 days a week too.

We also need to realize that our food needs (and likes) change over time. My husband and I have been empty nesters for 9 years and we don’t eat like we did when we had teenagers. We also eat differently than we did even 3-4 years ago.
As I look at case lot sales and things to stock up on, I’ve needed to make adjustments!

I have watched a million of these things, and oddly I have only stocked up on garbanzo beans. However, kudos to you for mentioning pet food/supplies. You are the only one.
